Kelty Sideroads Car Awning

I bought this Kelty awning over the moon shade or other options. I like to camp and fly model airplanes. First time I used it was slope soaring rc sailplanes, that means standing on top of a hill with lots of wind while flying model sail planes. I was pleasantly surprised that the awning was able to handle strong winds. I was worried about it but it was all good. Yes, it moved around and there were some times that it flexed more than I was comfortable with. I used two poles to elevate the side that goes to the ground and used it as a traditional awning. I took the poles off for a little while and it handled the wind much better. The big oversized bag is a big win!! you don't have to fold it perfectly right to make it fit.

Very easy set up. Wanted the one with sides coming down but it was out of stock. I reinforced 4 spots on each side and put in grommets. Then I put grommets in a couple beach towels , they can hang down, provide shade and dry the towel! My great awesome ha moment!

We have a small camping trailer with no awning. We use this along the side door of our camper for a dry cozy space to get in and out. Also, we setup our camp chairs and table underneath when the weather is wet. it has been a necessary companion to our trips. Benefits: - Easy to setup and take down with one or two people. - Plenty of tie down options for varying vehicle types - Packs easy... doesn't have to be wrapped tighter than a diaper to get into the carry bag - Versatile set up options - Per pictured setup. One side on vehicle and other on poles (with guy ties). One side poles and other on ground (as free standing shade). - Waterproof with taped seams - Ample headroom and vertical space to move about - Well thought design for water runoff on vehicle and sides of canopy Drawbacks - None experienced at this time (e.g. long term durability has yet to be tested)

This Kelty awning is amazing! As a 5'2 single woman it was easy to set up and provided great shade from the midnight sun. Highly recommend

I converted and ambulance into an RV and did not have the room nor want an awing attached to unit. This is the perfect option, it can be set up on any side or location on the RV. Can even set up by itself with some tent poles. Quality made , like the mini side walls and it's also cheaper than the moonshade.

I bought this to use with my car-camping setup. I have a small hatchback with a Habitent that fits over the hatch. I bought the Kelty Sideroads tarp to provide a sheltered area to step out into. It's perfect! Roomy and easy to set up!

First off its a nice and well laid out awning. Upon getting it out for the first set up we discovered one pole shock cord cut by the edge of a metal ferrule and three places in the nylon where it had been punctured in a pattern by something in contact with the awning body. Both minor and easy repairs but having to do so on something out of the box is a bummer. Got it at REI

Perfect for shade and waiting out the rain. Only problem: a pole broke on 3rd set up and can't find a replacement.

I bought this awning for my teardrop. I have used it approximately 3 times and it is perfect for what I need; shade on a hot day and a dry place to wait out the rain. The only problem I have had is that, on the third set up, one section of the main pole shattered and an adjacent section split. I have them duct taped but that won't last and I'm having trouble finding replacement poles or sections.
