This is an excellent pack. I have put a lot of miles on mine including internationnal travel, across the U.S. and locally... on foot, in car, boat and plane. I have received such good service from this pack, I bought three more (one for each of my sons).

It doesn?t fit me. That isn?t the fault of Kelty. I will make due until I find a better fit

I ordered the newer redwing model four myself and the previous year model for my wife, the old bag design with the open top laptop pocket is a much better design. The workmanship and materials seemed like higher quality on the previous year bag than the newest model. The bag is overall a better made bag than the newest year model

I used this pack for a three day backpacking trip this week & it was the ideal pack. I had plenty of room for my tent(Kelty Salida 2),my sleeping bag(30 degree),20 degree liner, some clothes, food, cook stove(tiny)& small med kit. The bag took a beating & came through fine. It carried well too. Fit properly & the straps stayed tight. It will see a lot of use.

Holds what I need it too. Very clean lines and no straps flying all over the place. I am able to use this as my motorcycle pack attached to the backrest. I use a Pac-Safe backpack licking net system to keep gear safe. Thanks for making such ch an awesome product

this is my second Redwing backpack. I had my first one for many years and loved it. It was stolen. I bought this one, and went on a backpacking trip in Utah (Unitas). I am super happy with it. It's very adjustable, functional, lightweight, and comfortable. I would highly recommend Kelty Redwing.

As a relative camping and hiking novice, this bag checked all the boxes. It's comfortable, has plenty of storage options and space, and it looks really good, too. The main compartment's zipper going almost the full length of the bag made packing and unpacking a breeze. The outside pockets are roomy enough to fit the essentials without being so big that there's a lot of wasted space. The pack tightens up well so you have a nice, firm fit when hiking. There are also plenty of places to attach things on the outside of the pack. I loved it.

The Redwing 50 served its purpose as my wife and I went on a weekend get away to the Lost Maples State Park here in Texas. The kelty packed everything as it should for those outdoor adventures. I would surely recommend this product. Very Satisfied.

Solid pack...I was looking forward to using this. The sizing indicates it fits 15-20ish...I am 17 and the lowest adjustment on the shoulder straps is like 18...so that is a fail. Only buy this pack if you have a longer torso. As it is I can use it for travel but definitely not for hiking as it will not adjust down to my size as it advertised it would.

My Redwing 50 may just be the perfect “do all” pack. It’s just right for a weekend getaway to the woods or vacation destinations alike. Great organizational capabilities, great storage compartments and I really love the pass through sides. This is truly an awesome and versatile pack.

Haven’t used it camping yet, but the bag seems to be well made. The backpack seems to fit very high on the back of the neck. But besides that it seems to be of great quality.

Love this backpack!! The only things I would’ve liked that this pack lacks is a separate compartment for the sleeping bag and hip band pockets. Other than that, this was comfortable on the shoulders and hips and I’m so happy with this purchase!

2020 is the first year in over 30 that I can remember not going camping and hiking. The pack seems nice and I think it will work well for me. However, I have not hiked 10 miles out, camped and hiked back. The hike back is where I think I really start to notice what I don’t like about a pack. Since I purchased this pack, it’s gone on one road trip where I used it instead of a suitcase and a few trips to the grocery store on foot. I haven’t loaded it very heavy. It is well made and lighter than my very very old Northface.

I spent a while looking around for a bag like this and decided to go with the Redwing. I really like that you can open it from the top or open it all the way to get access to everything without pulling it all out. I also like having the extra pockets on the front sides and top rather than just one big one. It has two rows of Molle webbing on the bottom, so you could easily attach a sleeping pad or tent on the outside of the bag. I haven't gotten out to use it yet, but it seems like it would fit me pretty well, I am 5'4" 126lb.

Only taken it for one 3 day trip and seems like a good pack. My son used it on this occasion and liked it even though it was a little big for him. I marked it 4 stars due to the zippers and fabric seeming a little lower quality that some of my other packs. Only time will tell on their durability. Overall a good pack with a lot of great features.

Bought this for back country camping. Really like the design. Able to carry my axe on one side and tent poles on the other fed through the side pockets - great design feature. Sippers could be of a heavier quality especially the main ones. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Comfortable pack at an outstanding price
By Brandon
I've had this pack for a few weeks now, and was finally able to get it loaded up for my first outing with it. Just shy of ten miles on a low-moderate difficulty trail proved to be a breeze. Despite being relatively out of shape, and well out of practice when it comes to hiking any amount of distance, this pack made carrying a 25+ lbs load a simple task. With a large number of pockets/compartments to work with, organization was extremely simple and made for a sensible and easy to work with loa...

Awesome pack great service
By Rugershooter
First this pack is absolutely outstanding. Not too big and lots of pockets to organize things. The frame stays in this pack help carry a pretty heavy load if you need to but you can also cinch everything down and make it reasonable for a short hike. I contacted customer service to inquire about a hip belt extender and they sent one right out. Very pleased with the pack and even more so with the service. Great product great company. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
The Kelty Redwing 50 Internal Pack is a mid-sized daypack for traveling across country or a day on the trail. Featuring a full-access U-shaped zipper, you can get at your gear either through the top loader or the panel loader, giving you options on the trail. An internal padded sleeve can either hold your laptop or store your hydration system, and extra water bottle pockets on the side help you stay hydrated. A multitude of pockets give you plenty of options for storing all your gear, like dual side pockets, a top stash pocket, a front pocket with organization, a front stash pocket with closure hook, and even a key fob so you don't lose your keys. Strap on your extra gear with the hide-away daisy chain and handy ice axe or trekking pole loops, and the waist belt is removable when you don't need it. The advanced Hex Mesh back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt are ultra comfortable, and the padded and ventilating back panel keeps your back cool and comfortable all day long. You can stabilize your load with the sternum strap and load lifter straps to fit the Kelty Redwing 50 Internal Pack snuggly against your body and head out on your next adventure.
