I have a few dozen of these for backpack fly fishing trips. They are excellent quality and value. Chuck Huggins, President , Fly Fish West Virginia, Inc.

Upon arrival I realized that the one I ordered was just a size too small. I couldn't figure out any obvious way to be able to exchange or return it so it just turned out to be money wasted

Item is as expected in terms of duarbility. I bought the green which is the L size. Seems a litle too big for my down sleeping (marmot sawtooth) back and could go one size down to M.

I have had 3 of these for our Light weight sleeping bags we take backpacking and they are so great, they pack down to 6" by about 12" and make it so I can put lots more in my pack, I have had my first one for 5 Yrs. now, love it!

I find it too pricey for a small compression bag that doesn't hold much item for backpacking. Really, if I have a small item that needs to be packed in waterproof bag, I can just use a plastic bag and not spend $20 for a bag! The quality looks good but the size is way smaller than what I needed it for. I ordered it to pack down my backpacking lightweight sleeping pad but the compression pack is just an inch narrower and can't be stretched. I was disappointed as the color matches the pad and also my Kelty sleeping bag. I was thinking of returning it but then it will cost me for return shipping. Not convenient :( Hopefully I get to use this for packing down a few clothes if not the sleeping pad although like I mentioned above, I can just use a plastic bag for my clothes. For now it doesn't seem useful at all.

Bought 2 of the small size (~ 6L) sack, use them to pack down 20-degree down bag, blanket, or clothes. Both sacks are used for about 3-4 times so far. The seam of the lid on one of the sacks has started to show tear from stretch. Am a bit concern about long-term durability. Other than that it's a decent compression sack for the price.

bag was too small for my sleeping bag. I can use it for stuffing clothes thought.

XL but not big enough to contain my sleeping bag. It cannot fit over my synthetic 30 degree Coleman sleeping bag. It is only good now for dirty laundry & small blankets.

Bought two of these compression sacks for a backpacking trip in Montana. Used them to replace the stuff sacks that came with my Kelty sleeping bags. The string broke on one bag and the plastic string cinching device broke on the other.

This is the only Kelty gear I own that I am not pleased with. I purchased two medium compression sacks in June for my sleeping bag and clothes, and hit the VT Long Trail. At the end of ten days two straps had ripped off, and two others were frayed where they were sewn to the end caps. I did not put a dying strain pulling on these straps to compressed the sack... NG

these were good, durable compression sacks. they save a LOT of room in your pack. but if you want to put a sleeping bag in one you need to get at least a medium size. the small was too small to fit my kelty bag in. my tent and rainfly fit in the small size pretty well though.

I'm going to keep this review short and to the point.I tested a few different sizes of these one weekend while testing a variety of some of my other, more recent purchases. See my reviews on the Eureka Grand Manan 9, Eureka Mountain Pass 3XTE, GoLite Odyssey Internal Pack, tent stakes from The North Face, and Slumberjack Latitude 20F sleeping bag also.Well, one of the straps on the Large, 10x18 sack broke or tore where it was sewn or otherwise attached onto one of the end caps. This is the only use this compression sack has ever seen. I'm pretty sure that's what I was keeping my Slumberjack Latitude 20F sleeping bag in. I stuffed it in, I took it out for the weekend, I stuffed it back in, the strap broke.I also brought my Slumberjack Latitude 0F sleeping bag just in case. But, the X-Large, 11x22 sack I put it in and took it out of and put it back in (same scenario of useage as for the Large, 10x18 sack), well, it did just fine. As did the other sizes in which I stuffed my tents. So, it could be an isolated incident. I don't know. But, to have failed with such minimal use is still not a very good way to start off any relationship. Uh huh... :0\I realize the cost of Granite Gear's Round Rock Solid compression sacks is roughly twice as much. [...] I have a few of the aforementioned Granite Gear sacks, and after the strap on the Kelty sack broke, I compared the construction of the two brands. And, I just think the construction of the Granite Gear sacks is more heavy duty and suited for more serious abuse.I still like the Kelty sacks. And, I'll continue to use the ones that I have. But, I won't push them as far during my future outtings. Maybe I was expecting too much. Or, maybe it was an isolated incident of a fault. Just don't put too much in these things, if you decide to get them. I'm only going to recommend them for light use.Did I say I was going to keep this review short? Right.....
