The Gregory Deva fabric is very resilient and very waterproof. It has withheld many tree snags and rainstorms. It is well organized and very comfortable. The way the bag moves on my hips makes treking over mountain tops very comfortable.

Love my new Deva! I've had a Deva 60 for about 16 years & it was tough to think about getting a new pack, but I decided to go for it since there are some great features this pack has that my old one doesn't. I've worn it out fully loaded on a couple of training hikes & it's been fantastic - lots of padding in the right places, pockets are easily accessible, & I love the included day pack. Really happy I decided to upgrade.

After over a decade of Osprey bags, I was ready to try something different when I entered my 30s. While great quality, the Osprey bags left my lower back hurting at the end of the day because of my long waist. This pack has the built in shoulder adjustments and lower back support that made all the difference. I'm 5'4", about 150 pounds, and had an 18 in back measurement; the size Small fit like a glove. I felt many years younger backpacking with this pack! Also, as someone who love to "organize" her gear and hike with dogs, I also LOVE all the pockets, and the easy access zipper that lets you get into the middle of the bag from the side of the pack. The side water bottle pocket is a nice versatile option to have- I mostly used it to carry a small water bottle for my dogs and their leashes. I also like having the built in daypack, which came in handy for day hikes and made me feel more secure about my water bladder not sweating or leaking into other parts of the bag. All in all- recommend this pack 100%. I can't wait to take this pack on many more adventures!!!

It has everything you need in a backpack- I like that I did not have to buy anything extra for it.

Great pack although it?s an older model and a little heavy, 5lbs plus. Thinking of a newer one soon! Still in great shape. Side pockets for water bottles are difficult to get to.

I?ve been using this pack for almost three years now, and I love it! The only downside is that the water bottle holder on the side for shredded from overuse and is now broken.

I have a deva 70 that is about 8 years old. Love it but wanted a upgrade to cut some weight Went looking for a new pack and thought " I'll just look at the updated deva." Boy was i impressed! New features everywhere! I was most impressed with the removal hydration pouch that becomes a day pack, the baffled top pouch for easy storage and location of smaller gear, and the easy zipper pulls. Also that frame... so comfy! Looking forward to my first test trip with my new pack!!!!

I absolutely love my Deva 70! I purchased it because I was very impressed with my husband?s Baltoro 70. This pack is very well-made with lots of attention to detail, and is extremely comfortable. Are lots of pockets to help keep me organized, and the well thought out zipper placement makes for easy access. I would definitely recommend this pack!

I just got my new Deva 70L and can hardly wait to use it! This pack had many features that my old pack did not: U-zip access, camelbak compatible, storage on hipbelt with one being waterproof, divided exterior storage to separate items, a side bottle pocket, and it is about 4 pounds lighter than my old pack. Tried it on in the store with some weight in it and found it to be extremely comfortable and balanced. Will be loading it up soon and heading out on adventures!

I bought this pack (women?s small) a year ago and first used it on a canoe trip. The pack itself is lightweight with a comfortable harness system. I am 5?2? 135lbs. I carry loads on my hips and never my shoulders. I like that this pack moves with me and comfortably fits my frame. I recently used this pack on a 5 day backpacking trip. I was able to fit in all my necessities. I don?t make use of the various zippers to the main area and just use the top loading method to access my equipment. I also have removed the divider between the top and bottom so I can load and unload more efficiently. I always pack away the things I need least during the day toward the bottom of the pack. I?ve tried the various methods of moving heavier items toward the bottom or middle but in reality, I?m 5?2? and everything is crammed into a short space so I?ve never noticed any advantage to having heavier items in different locations. For this past trip, my pack weighed just over 41lbs. After about 10km (roughly 7miles?), I noticed two points of pressure on my back/hip area. Turns out those pressure points correspond to the two round head rivets that allow the hip belt to move without moving the pack. Could you A: maybe use flat head rivets and B: increase the padding or add another barrier so those rivets can?t be felt. I also like that the pack comes with a rain cover but it only covers the pack at volume. Not anything such as a foam mat that might be attached to the pack. Could you perhaps add about 20 more litres to the cover to allow for things that might be attached to the side of the pack such as tents and mats.

I've had this product for about 2 yes now in the Burgundy, I am a female, 5'6'' about 118 lbs. I have to wear an XS. I like the bag; however, I had to trade comfort for volume. due to the bag being XS, have to struggle getting everything in its spot..something I noticed when I swapped sizes. I had to swap a S for an XS as even the S was too long and I did not like having it creep up my puny neck (the bigger volume bag was really long for me) so I had to compromise size of bag. bummer.5. It's the same with all the other products Gregory and other quality bag makers have. I'm just too darn short. Need a large-backed, super strong XY to haul everything! The good news is although I clumsily stuff everything in it, it's not torn from the wear; I've put it through lots of hard miles and throw it around a bit in my car trunk and on the ground. I use stuff sacks for everything, including my cook wear. This product was recommended by another female hiker who hiked the PCT. She is about my size. But she was able to hike with her spouse--a sturdy lad with stout legs, who cheerfully carried close to 100 lbs daily -- most items were shared between spouses. ( He carried the tent and other heavy items). The bag holds everything I need (not want) - but I do have to decide if I really need item "X" as I have volume limitations. I still love and recommend this bag; perhaps you have a longer torso.

The Deva 70 is the first pack that I've met that helps my packing. I am a 5' 2" gal with a petite frame that has struggled with carrying other packs. The extra small fits me like a glove and keeps the weight center where my body actually is. It is so adjustable that I can get the pack to fit and not loosen itself or manipulate my body in weird ways. The movable hips straps have also made a huge difference in my comfort but also while making large steps over logs or up steep hillsides that longer limbed people seem to struggle less with. But when the straps move, it makes it easier to lift my leg higher. Additionally, there are lots of pockets and organization that is the perfect amount. The only thing I would change would be to lengthen the mat carrying straps so I could fit normal sized overnight mats, I always struggle to borrow ones that fit. When I lead weekend backpacking trips, everyone is impressed with my organization that would be impossible without my Deva. I bought my pack used, it's still perfect and does not appear to have gone over 18 trips already (It's been a year), so I don't have the day pack but I think this addition would provide even more organization. I will continue to recommend and buy Gregory packs for the future.

We bought this as a gift for our world-traveling daughter. She has tried many packs and this is the only one she wanted. It's a well-made pack, I'm impressed. #sweepstakes
