Shopper : Is this a 3 season or 4 season tent? SunnySports S : This is a 3 season tent. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?BERNARD S : I have owned two other Eureka Timberline tents and have been very happy with them.ELIZABETH P : I need a semi-4-season tent for a long car camping journey, mostly using for one person. I need ease of setup, and not too much mesh in the tent body, because it will be chilly outside. I will be using a tent heater inside, so I needed room for me, the heater, a small table, chair and sleeping pad, plus other gear. I had a Timberline 2 person tent for years, and it was great, so decided on this one, over the REI 4 person one, etc.JASON L : We have 7 of the same tents that we use in our Boy Scout Troop

Good Price

My old eureka tent is over 10 years old and is still working fine. Wife wanted a little more room. We motorcycle camp so the extra room is nice.

Great Tent

So far I've used this tent for a weekend trip backpack camping on the nothern shore in MN and I will tell you this tent is awesome. I took a long time before I finally made the decision to buy this tent and I am very glad that I did. The setup is very straight forward and quick if you read through the instructions beforehand. Took me less than 10 minutes to set it up in my backyard all by myself. The quality of materials is just as good, if not better than anything else on the market. I was particularly impressed with the quality zippers they put on this tent. On the trip I only noticed a little bit of condensation on the front and rear door, but it was minimal. Keep in mind I had the flies closed and it was around 40F overnight with two people inside. Very well done...I hope that this tent last for many years to come.

Great tent well made

The small spreader pole at the top is not that easy to set up. There is a learning curve that does make it easier.

Awesome Tent

Well made tent and will provide many years of use with our Boy Scouts. First night out had a severe thunderstorm with high winds, and it held up great and not a drop of rain inside. I love this tent.

Timberline outfitter 4

timberlines are great. My two man timberline is almost 35 years old. They are great in the wind, the a frame really holds the tent in place. The full rain fly keeps moisture out. Really a breeze to set up and take down. So after all the years owning the two man, I tried a Coleman dome style tent. What a mistake. I immediately went back to a larger timberline. I have slept in it in the winter with my son, in the howling wind, no problems. This timberline outfitter is awesome. The vestibule holds a lot of gear and improves the wind profile also. I use the footprint, some people complain that it is too thin. But it is the same material the stake bag and bottom of the tent. The material is light, but It is also tough. I also use the floor saver inside the tent. Between the footprint and the floor saver, I have not had any damage to the tent floor and I have set up on some very rocky ground. With the floor saver inside the tent, you can fold it up when you leave and any dirt that found it's way into the tent can be taken out with the floor saver. The only downside is it is not a tall tent. Sub five feet. Not a problem for me. But there is a 6 person timberline that is 6 feet 4 inches. You can back pack with this tent, but you will have to divide up the pieces. Otherwise it is too heavy for one person. This is an outstanding tent. It will probably outlast me and get passed down to my son.

Classic Tent/Top Quality

O.K., first lets get one thing out of the way. It's not light. I weighed the tent and all of it's contents just out of the box in the large bag and it was 11 lbs 8 oz. I have since gotten rid of some of the bags and extra's I don't need along with some of the weight. I usually use sturdy dead wood and make my own stakes, It cuts down on carry weight. Still it's heavy and impractical for single hikers. This is a tent for at least two people. Divide the tent and distribute it with others and you won't carry much more than a standard (not ultralight) two man tent. Now to the good stuff. This tent is so impressive! The quality is fantastic. The stitching is extremely strong. I found absolutely no weak spots. I am a larger than average man (6-03 and 230lbs). I have more than enough room for myself, my wife, our gear, and our dog. The fly is much better than the standard version of this tent as it is longer. I've seen reviews where some complained about the spreader bar being difficult. Honestly, I don't think some would be satisfied unless their tent set itself up, carried them inside and tucked them warmly in their $800.00 sleeping bags. Quality and confidence sometimes take a few extra (but worthy) steps. I can set this tent up in 5 to 10 minutes every time, less if I am not being too particular. I was looking for a no nonsense honest to goodness storm-proof shelter. One that would last for many many years if taken care of. One that gave me, my wife and our dog a "no worries" place to shelter when we hike and camp deep in the woods. I tried a two man tent and it just wasn't working, no room to breath for me. The three man tents still were a little lacking in either width or length. Most of the time my head and feet pressed firmly into the sides of the tent in the night unless I stayed in one cramped position all night long. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to carry anymore weight than I have to, but I also want to sleep comfortably, with room to stretch, room for gear, and no worries that I'll get wet. I use this tent to hike and camp, car camp, and camp while hunting. The quality of the Timberline series is legendary not only in hype, but for real! This tent will withstand what nature throws at you short of a hurricane or tornado. The frame is extremely strong and when the fly is guyed out, the tent is there to stay! It's not an ultralight sil-nylon fits in the palm of your hand kind of preppy shelter. This tent is made in old fashioned better than needed quality that would probably outperform and outlast most others in it's class. I've brought up the weight of this tent several times in this review. That said, don't be afraid to purchase this tent as a pack tent. If you regularly carry a 50 lb plus pack on your adventures this won't add anything extra except peace of mind to you and your party. If you are a single hiker, or everyone in your party is small to medium. There are probably much more choices for you out there. But if you are a large man and need a shelter large enough to house you, a friend or two and your gear...you may find a tent as good, but I would challenge you to find one better!

Tough Tent

The support pole that crosses the main ridge pole is a bit cumbersome. It fits into pockets on the tent & also pockets on the fly. Hard to do by yourself, but I managed. VERY solid, tough, well built tent. A bit heavy for backpacking, but would be fine for canoe-camping, car camping, etc. highly recommended!
