Coleman CPX 6 Rechargeable Power Cartridge

After some years my old CPX Batteries no longer charged, I bought 2 more new, of the same, they were both discharged also, but after a couple days of charging they worked, am currently changing them for 1 week, as instruction say, when totally discharged. Now, on one the light was green though the battery was drained, the other was RED, and remains red, on day 4 of charging, it is also WARM, at the touch, the other is COLD, as they are normally, So, I am left with a feeling of uncertainty. Normally charge these batteries every 3 months, which was great for some years, and of course, we had a Power Outage and my once dependable Lantern's would not work. They need to redesign the Battery lights, for consistency, and provide Trouble shooting Tips, in the Instructions, for example, if the Lights are always Green, or Red, does it indicate a BAD BATTERY, ETC. This seems a simple thing to provide us customers.

I had the same the same green light on but not working issue. I was able to fix it by instaling the battery in the lamp, turning it on (no light of course) and letting the battery drain completely (about 24 hours). Recharged it and its worked ever since. Don't know if this will work for everyone.

I’ve read the reviews about charges not holding in the CPX batteries but I haven’t had that experience in the two I own. It might be a production issue for those customers or the instructions weren’t followed correctly for charging and use. My CPX lantern will stay on for well over 24 hours on the low setting. Very happy with this system.

Must admit the price seemed a little daunting, but if it keeps working as long as I expect it to it will be well worth it in savings from not getting batteries. We are a Cub Scout Pack that uses these with Coleman lanterns, and they are easy to use. You can always bring some batteries if you're afraid you'll use up a charge, but hasn't been a problem for us over a two-night trip, with lights-out around 9PM (adults will keep one lantern going later - we bring 6).

Tis purchase was to replace a CPX 6 that would no longer accept a charge. Unfortunately the battery I recieved did not charge either. The web site I was refered to to work out the replace, was, for me cumbersome. Photos I sent did not arrive at Coleman so we had to work out a different way --- which did work. All is good

The original rechargeable battery woouldn't hold a charge anymore, so this was to replace that one. I charged it per instructions and tried it out. The lantern works again like it's supposed to. The D-Cell cartridge is still OK, but I like the recharge feature.

The price of batteries is outrageous, so I purchased the rechargable power cartridge. This was an excellent purchase, good price, good value, good for the environment. I like the fact you can charge at home or on the go with the adapters provided. Again Coleman rocks!

Rugged bright lamp that is very convenient to charge it's good rechargeable battery, many times. Puts out a very nice bright light and has served us well for several years and for which we look forward to it's good service for many more. A good and solid product. Does what it says it will do

Two out of the six batteries that I received won't hold a charge!!! Going to send them back and hopefully get some replacements.
