Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

I owned one for about three years and there are some times I wear this on me every weekday. Here are the features that I needed and Black Diamond has met my high standards. The quick on and off switch is helpful on those days where I am in dark spaces for short periods of time. The rugged headlamp body, strong band and waterproof standard proved to withstand the daily usage that I need. My latest purchase was two headlamps so that I have my daily use one and one in the vehicle for roadside emergencies. The price is worth the quality Black Diamond has put into this equipment.

I love these headlamps for their features, small form and price. They make great gifts for kids, nieces and senior graduates. I have one by my bed, one in my everyday bag and always take them camping.

I bought and lost my first spot 2018 version after my first ultra. Thank goodness I was able to get same version again! The 30 hour burn time on max and 175 on min means less batteries to change and carry. It is light weight, shines out well and makes hiking / running at night easy for me. In my opinion this is an excellent unit for the price. I have not used a new version to compare apples to apples but this definitely better than my original headlamp (walmart no name

I bought two of these lights. One to pack with my fishing kit and one for everything else. I wanted a basic, lightweight, packable headlamp with red and this device delivers. An excellent value with all the features you need for most tasks.

Raving about this headlamp. Especially the diffused bulb, great even light fills my whole tent without any hot spots or annoying shadows. Great product, great company.

It had work extremely well, until about a month ago, when started having problems to turn on. Now it does not work, at all. I need to claim the warranty, but do it k own how.

Just took this head lamp on a 4 day camping trip and found it to be a good functional light. The ability to use red light on and off without white is nice. I did not get it very wet so I can't speak to it's water tightness, but it seems put together well. I do find it helpful around the house a lot.

I bought this headlamp about a year ago and it has never let me down. Bright spot beam and great illumination with the flood all while being infinitely variable with intensity. The touch pad on the side for the instant light boost is nice when you want a quick shot of light instead of having to mess with the settings. I recently bought a second one just to keep in my motorcycle bag for just in case moments.

Very happy with the functions on this lamp. The red light and the ability to dim both white and red light volume allows for great flexibility and battery conservation. The band is also better than most. Well built and compact.

Like others, I got a bunch (4 for this great lamp on sale at an awesome price (Christmas gifts!!!) I like the one button operation with the side "boost" feature. This is super light for the light output and good battery life. I have one in the house, one in my car and one for my work satchel. Thanks BD!!!

I have owned numerous BD Spot headlamps and quickly jumped at the sale they were having. This headlamp is always easy to use, is lightweight, and the beam has many settings. I just wish they could develop a method to keep my kids from losing them!!!

This is the second headlamp I have bought from BD since I decided headlamps are the way to go for lights in the dark. I bought the first one and then this one 3 years later to have a 2nd one on hand. I picked this brand specifically because of the red light options - both steady and strobe. They also offer strobe for white light and offers the option to reduce the lumens or increase.

Bought these as a short outing, 4 hours or less, headlamp. I have another black diamond headlamp for all night outings which has also been great, but obviously heavy to last that long, this spot lamp has been perfect.

I purchased this product because of the brand's reputation and my desire for a red light for camping. Afterall, flashing a bright light in your buddy's face is not fun. I find the light to be straight forward and the varying features for narrowing the scope of the light to be very useful. Additionally, the red light is great and

I recently took this headlamp to the Sand Dunes National Park and I am extremely impressed. The 80m spotlight was perfect for helping us move off the dunes after the sun went down and the light intensity will not leave you wanting. I never knew 300 lumens was so bright. The yellow in the center of the spotlight beam is noticeable but I honestly wasn't annoyed. It's the same idea of running white and yellow off road lights for better contrast. I can't speak to it working after getting wet since it didn't see any water this trip. I did have a previous black diamond headlamp that you could recharge batteries in and I'm disappointed that feature isn't in this headlamp but if I'm honest with myself I almost never used that feature. All in all this is a great headlamp and I wish I hadn't sat on the fence for so long before buying it.

I use this for pre-dawn and night running and for my ski patrol night shifts. It provides excellent light on dark roads and ski trails. The red light is a great option as a safety light as pre-dawn darkness transitions to dawn. My reason for a rating of 4 rather than 5 is that it is too difficult to operate. Remembering which changes require how many presses or which require long presses and for exactly how many seconds is a challenge. They should have put 3 buttons to make it much easier to operate.

i have lways bought BD headlamp, i have used this one professionally as a guide sea kayaing, skiing and hiking , it has never failed me, in the cold the dampness and even when the batteries run low there is always a bit of power left to use which helps you finish that chapter or find the lighter to get your day started ! well built, long lasting and intuitive! lots of life left i'm sure !
