The poles are excellent. It's that tiny 1. 5 mm allen wrench that you need in order to adjust the locking tabs. That bothers me. I aways have to carry one, don't drop it in the grasses on a mountain you'll never find it. Don't really want to duck tape it to one of the poles. They could have at least sent a handful of them.

Lightweight carbon and Cork handles are amazing. Cork makes all the difference on those hot days when sweat is a factor.

They're very nice. very light with the tech tips on them. Better than the tip protectors. Moved to the Tetons for the summer. So they are getting used. Wolf creek yesterday (easy) Middle Teton tomorrow ??

I had a pair and loved them but lost them due to being a space cadet. I was hesitant to shell out the cash for a new pair, so I went with a cheaper pair of Lekis. The Lekis are fine, but I always missed my BD carbon cork poles. I finally buckled and got a new pair of BDs. The cork grip is solid and substantial and allows the grip to gradually shape to your hand. The flick lock system is secure and easy to operate. And I like the lightweight carbon construction. I've jammed them into talus when moving quickly and was afraid I'd break one but they are very durable.

Everything BD sells is well made including their Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles. The new FlickLock® Pro adjustability is a real improvement and much easier to use than previous versions. The Solution straps are considerably more durable than former versions. However, Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles do not come with powder baskets and I had to purchase powder baskets separately.

I love my new poles. They replaced older same item, but Black Diamond fixed two things I didn't like in the older ones-the fasteners don't have that plastic that always broke off, and I like the tundra color better than the white. I lost one of the old poles, or I would have kept using them. Both sets of poles light, strong, and in my older age provide stability in hiking, especially in rougger terrain. Cheers.

Frankly I was a little skeptical at first whether the price was going to be supported by the value, but I can safely say that this is one of my better gear purchases in a long time. Build quality is exceptional and they have functioned flawlessly for me so far. I would highly recommend.

I've been using black diamond trek poles for hunting and hiking for years and the alpine carbon are by far the lightest rugged pole I've ever used.

Bought these for my wife (for Christmas) to replace a really old pair of Black Diamond hiking poles. So they haven't been used yet but they are beautifully designed and incredibly lightweight. I would highly recommend them!

Not the lightest or the most collapsible poles for sure. I have used these for years because I think they are some of the least likely poles to fail on me in the backcountry and are fairly light. I depend on my poles when climbing, hiking, and camping(trekking pole tent). These poles are also easy to manipulate in the cold, when frozen, and with gloves on.

These poles at first glance and feel are quite sturdy for carbon fiber poles. Feels very solid in the hand and I get the feeling I'll have no issues putting my weight on these confidently during hikes. I also like that the pole sections themselves are able to be taken apart for easy repairs. Not to mention the locks themselves also come apart for easy replacement should there be a need to in the future. Overall, very happy to have purchased these and I can see I'll be using these for awhile.

These poles were a great addition to my hiking favorites. The rigidity of the poles, with their lightweight swing makes them especially helpful after hours of tracking. Nice work BD!

This things are light and solid. Clasps hold the pole sections tight. Cork grips absorb a little moisture and have great grip. The best.

These are the best. Seriously, the locking mechanism is strong and doesn't shift when putting weight on it. The carbon material is light and comfy. The poles are comfy in my hands and all in all an excellent purchase. Just did 14 miles with them yesterday and 2500 feet of climb and they were bomber! Yes?. . you will love them! Great job on these BD!

Love these poles! They hold up extremely well. My first set lasted 5000+ miles and are still usable with a new set of tips. Only reason I pulled the trigger on a new set is the rubber and cork are just shot as this point for obvious reasons.

Bought these because I have seen them used by others for years and had great things to say. I immediately took them out on a pretty grueling set of hikes in the south in some karst landscapes that would put a beating on any pole. They handled so well and felt so sturdy which was exactly what saved me a few times. I installed the screw on rubber tips which was an amazing adaptable feature to have and they helped going from rock to soft ground and back constantly! The straps and cork handle felt just right around my wrists and hands. I'm just super happy with these.

Love the quality. But when at its shortest possible length they're too long to fit into my carry-on luggage. I couldn't bring them on my trip of planned hikes for a three day weekend. I'm so sad. Wish they compacted to a shorter length like my husband's of another major brand.

This is the 2nd set of Alpine Carbon Cork trekking poles I have purchased. The last set 8 years ago and unlike many other brands BD continues to improve the design especially the latches.
