I’ve used this in all sorts of conditions. Easy to put on while wearing crampons and lots of layers. Decent gear loops. I sometimes miss the belay loop but the tied in rope or another HMS do work really well. Superb, light and reliable.

Of note, you can easily put it on or take it off when wearing crampons or have your skis on. Not many harnesses have this feature, and that save a lot of frustration and time. It really should include clipper slots.

I needed a new harness and when I found this I did a little bit of research and knew I had to have it. When I received it I was blown away. It’s so simple to put on and when you tighten everything up to your body you truly feel safe. I seriously love this harness.

This is a light weight alpine harness. None of them are comfortable! You are sacrifice all the padding for lighter weight. I formerly had Petzl tour harness. The Black Diamond straps are wider and MUCH more comfortable. I read some reviews saying there was no belay loop??? There clearly is a belay loop. You need to read the directions (on the inside of the harness to see that it does have a belay loop, and just how it attaches. See pic. Again,weight/strapping has been cut down to reduce weight. This was not intended for hours of gym climbing, hence "alpine" harness. Because this harness is more strapping than padding, it also dries more quickly after use in alpine environments.

I have purchased several of these over the years for kids. Simple, very adjustable as they grow, wide straps for comfy hoists up top rope climbs, and they get gear loops so they can carry a biner or two like the big boys ! As far as the comment about no belay loop, I usually just clip the leg loop strap to the waist belt with a big locking biner and they are set to go all day.

I own an older version of this warhorse. It's a super reliable choice for winter because you can easily put it on, or take it off, without taking boots or crampons off, and it doesn't collect snow or ice. It doesn't have a belay loop, so be ready for that. The lack of belay loop is part of what makes it so easy to put on/take off while wearing boots. And if you're planning to carry a heavy pack while wearing a harness, choose the BD Couloir Harness instead; the near-rigid gear loops on this harness will dig into your hips if you're wearing it under a heavy pack's hip belt.

This is a great, simple harness for beginners with very easy usage/wear instructions. I look forward to using these more for groups of climbers.

This is just what you want in a minimalist alpine mountaineering harness. Very light, stowable and effective. This isn't the harness you want to spend a lot of time actually hanging in, but that's the point with an alpine mountaineering harness.... if you're hanging in it alot, you're doing something wrong :-

Very comfortable harness. It's a little on the smaller side but it still fits me good. Best starter harness by far for the money. If you decide to purchase, you won't be disappointed!

Light, simple, cheap. Feels pretty much the same hanging on as the fancy ones. Can climb one pitch, multi pitch, walls, alpine, ice, and ski mountaineer with this one harness. Packs down to nothing and dries fast. I cut off the gear loops for squeezing into offwidths. Couldn't be a more practical rig.

It does what expensive harnesses don't
