My girlfriend use it in the living room or kitchen while she works we both love it. I've been buying Biolite products from the beginning Biolite mini lights that I miss and other one lantern n flashlight

This little lantern has alot going for it. It is almost impossible to find a lantern that offers a warm white setting. I'm not convinced that their claim of 2700K on the warm white setting is accurate, it appears to be somewhere between 3000-3500K, but it is waaaay better than 5000K+ that nearly every other lantern on the market operates at, with no option to select a warmer color temperature. I'm not sure who decided that we all suddenly wanted a bug zapper with us when camping, minus the zapping, but that's where we're at. The other thing I'd like to see on the next generation, is more of the teal colored plastic around the bottom to have some grip to it, like the teal portion that runs down the sides, which helps you not drop it. The final issue is, there shouldn't be any micro USB ports on anything in 2025, it was an annoying annoying connector from day one, and in 2025 they are a thing of the past, and it's disappointing that BioLite hasn't switched over on the AlpenGlow 250 and 500 models.

This is a great lantern, holds a charge for a very long time. Very bright, candle light feature for picnic table. It many features are fun and functional.

I live this so much. Love the colour settings and being able to charge my phone. Easy to dim or brighten.

Despite its heft and size, the red light setting (and other led colors) is equivalent in brightness to a ~$20 generic Amazon light. It's white and light amber light settings can get very bright though so that's nice.

I love this light but the multiple colors stopped working and I am unsure how to get the colors back. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have all three sizes. I can't say one particular size is my favorite. They all have great use for different purposes. I have four mini ones. One is on my backpack just in case I need a light source on the road. I love them for ambience and just in case for black outs. They last for four hours on high brightness. I have dropped the mini one a few times. Got scuffed a little but not to the point where it's not useable. The big and middle one have so many different light modes. I'm a big fan of the fire light but I feel it's the best on the medium light. There is a lock mode too. You can charge your phone and the best part is their portable. They are great as gifts but there just pricey. I haven't got them wet yet so I can not speak on that. The mini is great because it has a bungee rope to hook onto anything. The others have hooks to make like lanterns. This won't disappoint you.

Bought this for the high powered light for emergencies, the warm lantern and red light for reading and late night musings. Great lantern. Very versatile. Long lasting for multiple nights out camping with hook to hang it.

I love my BioLite 500. It works immediately out of the box. It really lights the place up. It has 5 other colors, it is just the neatest gadget since sliced bread. You can get the smaller lights or the hanging lights too. I love their lights!! And they have more camping gear to look at and buy.

This is the third one I've purchased and all of these have continue to perform well. I have an off-the-grid cabin in the wilds of the Alleghany Highlands and I use these to supplement my lighting. I don't use all of the colors as some do, I use the 1/2 white light and the full white light with varying degrees of illumination. These lights amaze me as to the length of the charge they maintain. I occasionally use them to power a USB device if needed but I like these to provide light source. I purchased two of the BaseCamp lanterns years ago and one of them finally failed much to my disappointment, I've used the old ones for nearly a decade. I really liked that design and was sad when they were replaced with the AlpenGlow. But, back to the AlpenGlow - its a solid lantern and works great. The only negative I can say is that they do take some time to fully charge when using standard 120VAC/12amp power. I recommend these to provide a safe light source, a USB battery backup or just something to add some color in the night. I've search much of the web for a great price and the BioLite website offered the best deals.

I have used our AG500 for several things over the past few years of owning it. Camping, sitting out back on the porch, center table piece for dinners and hangouts. It's clutch for all the above-mentioned scenarios. With that said, until 3 months ago, when my wife and I had our first baby, we never really knew its ultimate purpose...the Nursery Light! This thing has been clutch in our baby's room. It's mobile so we can move it to the chair for bedtime stories. We can have it at the changing table through the night for those late-night/early-morning changes. Soft yellow light for winding down, red light for the times we need to change her but not try to wake her up. It's a game-changer for sure. Every parent of a young child needs this light in their nursery. You will not regret it.

This is my second AlpenGlow 500. They make ideal night lights, perfect for midnight trips to the bathroom or kitchen, without having to turn other lights on. While all the settings are very cool, the candle flicker is my favorite- and the charge lasts forever on that settting!

I bought the AlpenGlow 500 about 4 weeks ago and use it since then everyday on my ongoing journey through Sweden. I overall very happy with it and it works great. Only two things that could be better: 1. USB-C for Charging (again only one thing that needs another cable then all the other things to charge) 2. Non replaceable battery. It would be great if you could change the battery if it get old (what will happen way before the led's die)

I've tried almost every camp light and will say this is the best yet. Light, very bright (I have two and a 250) and fun to add colours at night. Lights up the campsite and battery has excellent longevity. Like all their products, please change the cables to USB-C like everyone else.

It's everything in one compact product. No remotes to misplace or cords that don't quite reach. The color palette is cool and easy on the eyes. This is really going to solve the light situation in my Road Trek.
