I've been using this tent for the last 5 years and have the mntGLO version (the built-in lighting is a nice feature but can be removed to save weight). I have the 2-person tent but have kept it solo so far. The tent is comfortable and is very light. My hammock gear set up is about the same weight as my tent gear set up when using this tent.

I have the solution dyed version of this tent-actually both the two person which I use with my dog and the three person which I use with another person because I mostly use this on wetter trails and so we want to keep our backpacks in the tent and not under the fly. This tent is amazingly light and has a perfect footprint so fits in most tentsites on thruhikes. I have used this tent on the Arizona Trail, the John Muir, Trail, and the Colorado Trail. It is lightweight, easy to set up good in the storms, although we were caught in tropical storm, Hillary on the John Muir Trail, and water was splashing up over the bathtub sides. It did not collapse under a snowstorm in the fall on the Arizona Trail, or under the hail multiple experiences on the Colorado Trail. When my daughter borrowed it and bent one of the poles, big Agnes was very quick to respond and fixed it for me. Overall, a great tent, durable and ultralight.

I have the new version plus the 2019 version. Both are good tents and set up is easy. Condensation build up is pretty bad in the new version. Needs more airflow

I have the Solution Dye version of this tent and found it to be roomy and comfy, but it was tough to set up in the rain on the river sandbar. It leaked at the corners because we didn't have the fly set just perfectly... In dry, comfortable conditions though, it's not an issue. Tons of storage and 2 entries are a plus if there's 2 of you, otherwise you don't need it.

I used the Tiger Wall UL2 on a recent guided backpacking trip, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I live with stage 4 endometriosis and chronic fatigue, so every ounce and every extra step counts and this tent delivered on all fronts. It was incredibly lightweight, which meant I could carry it without adding to my pain. Setup was shockingly easy. I could pitch it by myself without any struggle, even at the end of a long day on trail. It also packed down quickly and compactly, which helped me stay organized and avoid overwhelm in the mornings. This tent made me feel capable and independent in the outdoors again, something I don't take for granted. If you're looking for something light, reliable, and easy to use (especially if you live with a chronic condition or just appreciate simplicity), the Tiger Wall UL2 is 100% worth it.

Easy to set up and take down. Roomy with plenty of storage and space. Just wish the food print came with it.

I finished a 110-mile mountainous through hike in an area where a pole tent really wasn't an option and suffered from the extra weight of the "light weight" free standing tent I had. I was also cramped in that one. In talking with a friend that hikes many hundreds of miles every year he turned me on to the Tiger Wall UL2. It's barely 2 pounds, very spacious for one person with my gear in the tent to keep out bugs and critters from my pack and other gear, and it super easy to set up. It's freestanding in the sense that I can set it up and move it around as needed then get the corners staked down. I can easily use rocks and other means to secure the two corners that don't have the frame. I love how compact and simple it is! The frame and stakes are also light enough to pack separate from the tent material and compress the tent very small to take up much less space. Thanks to this tent my base pack weight is now solidly under 20 pounds, and it didn't break the bank to get there. Woo-hoo!

Great blend of light weight, durability and ease of use. And that seems to be a tough needle to thread.

Great tent even for a big guy

Great tent and super lightweight. I am a 6'4" 280+ lb guy and found this tent very comfortable.
Experience Lightweight Durability with Tiger Wall UL2 Tent
This tent is the ultimate three-season, semi-freestanding, ultralight tent for minimalist adventurers. Featuring proprietary HyperBead fabric, this tent is 6% lighter, 25% more waterproof, and 65% stronger than traditional fabrics. With its side-entry design and large dual doors, it offers easy access and spacious vestibules for gear storage. The high-volume, single-pole architecture made with DAC Featherlite materials ensures a sturdy and reliable setup for backcountry adventures, while the EZ Pack Stuff Sack simplifies packing with its convenient compression closure.
Unmatched Comfort and Ventilation
Its oversized 3D ceiling pocket and multiple storage loops provide excellent organization for your gear, while reflective webbing and guylines improve nighttime visibility. Ventilation is optimized with Low Vent features and double sliders on vestibule zippers, allowing airflow adjustments to prevent condensation during your trip. The innovative TipLok Tent Buckle simplifies setup by combining pole capture, rainfly attachment, and tensioning in one system.
Technical Excellence and Advanced Materials
This tent is crafted for durability and performance with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane taped seams that ensure reliable weather protection without harmful chemicals. The tent supports additional accessories like gear lofts and mtnGLO Tent & Camp Lights via interior loops, while pre-cut reflective guylines enhance safety. For extended use and fast fly compatibility, pair it with a Big Agnes footprint (sold separately).
Care Instructions
Storage
Always make sure your tent is dry and free of debris before storing. Fold and roll your tent a different way each time to avoid permanent creases. Store in a cool, dry place. Never leave your tent in hot temperatures (such as a car trunk or attic space) for long periods of time, as it will damage the material coatings. Storing your tent damp can result in mildew growth, which may cause your tent to smell, leak, or delaminate. Mildew damage is not covered under warranty.
Cleaning
For light cleaning, sponge the product with warm water (not hot).
For more thorough cleaning you will need
Wash basin (or bath tub)-Warm water (not hot)
Waterproof Gear Cleaner (Big Agnes recommend products like Nikwax Tech Wash)
Sponge
Submerge your gear in warm, clean water. Gently agitate with hands. Empty dirty water. Repeat until most of the excess dirt/grime is removed and water is mostly clear
Apply waterproof gear specific wash and gently work into fabric with sponge
Rinse gear thoroughly
Hang it up to dry
Triple check that your gear is completely dry before storage or use
Do not dry clean or machine-wash. Detergents and dry cleaning solvents will damage the fabric and ruin waterproofing
Never use hot water, bleach, liquid detergents, or dishwashing liquids
Allow to dry COMPLETELY before storage or use
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight as UV exposure can compromise waterproofing
Seam Sealing
Big Agnes tents are seam sealed as part of their manufacturing process! This seam tape alone is durable enough to prevent water leakage. Any seams that have been taped do not need to be seam sealed with a liquid sealer unless you want extra protection. Make sure the seam-sealer is completely dry before re-packing your tent. Damage caused by misapplication may void warranty.
Zippers
Keeping your zippers clean will help keep the coils and sliders from wearing out. If filled with dirt, vacuum or brush zippers before storing tent. Big Agnes recommend Gear Aid Zipper Cleaner and Lubricant.
