Bought this to replace a very old backpacking bag. It's kept me super warm at a fraction of the weight. I still haven't really mastered the zipping for side sleeping, but I haven't had any difficulty making it work.

I use this bag for bikepacking. It packed decently small and it competitively light for the price point. With a compression sack I can fit it in my Revelate Terrapin seat bag along with food, a jacket and some other odds and ends. The side sleeping specificity of this bag is a nice feature. And the temp rating seems accurate. The two things I don't like about this bag are 1) The zipper gets stuck way more than my other bags and 2) It loses down quite easily, more than my other down bags. Always a fair amount of it in the tent after using it.

Someone clearly put a lot of thought into the design of this bag. I am a 5'7", 135lb, female, burrower/side/stomach/sometimes back sleeper and preferred the long to the regular. The hood is cozy, deep, and is the only hood I found that keeps my ears covered as I roll around, even without the cords cinched. The cords are set back and cushioned by the hood opening so are comfortable cinched and the ends are buried under flaps on the inside. The zipper is comfortable next to the face. The large draft tubes along the length of the zipper add to the coziness. The pillow barn is handy to make a stuff pillow that moves with you. The long is comfortably wide throughout, though it is very long on me (in the regular my feet bottomed out in certain positions). However, the fault in this bag is with the quality of the fill. It came in at over 700fp per the down trace, but it is an 80/20 down to feather ratio. It does shed, but what is coming through are the broken feather/down pieces rather than full down clusters, so I do not see that as a big deal. The synthetic areas add some nice weight if you like the feeling of a more weighted quilt but otherwise are not very useful. At 50-55 degrees F with some dew, on a nemo insulated tensor, with midweight merino base layers, my head and chest were warm, but I was cold from the waist down (I may just be a very cold sleeper). This bag would be great with around an 850 90/10 goose down throughout, perhaps a more advanced baffle system, keeping the full hood and draft tubes, and a three way zipper would be a nice addition. But bravo on the shape - just perfect and like nothing else.

Great bag! Exactly what I've been looking for as a tall side sleeper but more importantly as someone who changes sides during the night. Upgraded from a competitor's bag which was catered to side sleepers, but had less insulation on the 'back'. When I would roll in the night the bag would come with me, and would end with the less insulated side covering my backside. Looking forward to using it in much colder weather, but would also give kudos as the overlapping insulation and ability to unzip at the bottom made it comfortable on a milder night in Olympic National Park last weekend. Only critique is that the bag which it comes with doesn't have cinch straps. With one I had from Sea to Summit I was able to get it to a much smaller size than the standard pack bag. Would purchase one for this specific bag if it was available.

Used this product on recent camping trips to pisgah national forest. It got down to 29 with frost and i was comfortable and warm. Being able to lie on my side to sleep and not have the zipper under me was amazing.

I've used this bag twice now - once on a 50 degree night in the appalachian foothills, and once on a 25 degree night in coastal florida. me: i'm a 6-3 190 lb guy who doesn't get cold too easily. Fit: First - i love almost everything about this fit and material. it's by far one of the nicest materialed bags i've ever gotten into, and is comfy with clothes on or even against your bare skin. i think it hits the sweet spot of room enough to not feel claustrophobic (in the footbox especially) but still retaining a mummy shape for warmth. true to it's name, the bag does well with side sleeping. the extra padding on the hips is noticeable in a good way, and the hood cinches around your head just right when it's cold. that's because the hood is shaped sideways, so it turns with your head as your body turns through the night. this said, the hood as it is awesome is also a liability -- if you're in temps that are warm enough that you don't want the hood on, then it can be a little bit weird because the hood is shaped sideways. so if you lay on your back for example, the hood feels bunched in one direction vs the other. i wouldn't say it was a big deal but it was something i noticed. warmth: on a 25 degree night in coastal florida, i wore long underwear and an extra shirt (but no hat). i was on a R1.5 (summer) pad and in a BA black light (so 3 season) tent. i was chilly but not cold -- somewhere between totally warm and comfortable and shivering....that sort of feeling where if i were at home i might think "oh i should turn the heat up like 1 degree...maybe". so i'd say it's true to the 'comfortable at 20 degrees if you take the right precautions' rating (i.e., i should have had a thicker pad at the last, and maybe a better set of long underwear). zipper: just bc i've seen some posts about the zipper, i have to admit i dont' get them. no zipper doesn't snag at all, but this is one of the least snaggy zippers i've ever seen (even when attacking it from the inside). anyways, all in all i'm stoked on this bag. its so comfy and it really does turn with you nicely if you sleep on your side. for me, the ideal temps would be 30-45 in it.
