Our first night using this tent on a backpacking trip in New Zealand and a tree fell on us in the middle of the night! Luckily I was able to make the necessary repairs to continue our trip and the tent continued to perform beautifully, even in inclement weather at times despite having a questionably placed pole repair sleeve (right against the hub) and a literal patchwork of ripstop tape all over the fly and inner tent. The larger size of the floor plan was the perfect (yet somewhat tight) fit for 2 adults and an 8 year old with all of our gear inside. Love the "porch" feature for nice days and while setting up/taking down. well thought out pockets, features, door placement. My only wish is that the Hotel rainfly came in this size, tho.

I have spent about 60 nights in this tent in many different environments. I find it to be extremely spacious for 2 people and pretty comfortable for 2 adults and a child. I upgraded to this tent from a BA Slater UL3 hotel. This tent is lighter and easier to set up than the slater due to the simpler fly. We have used this car camping, overnight backpacking, and on a thru-paddle of the Suwannee River. From swamps to sandbars to mountains to prairies it has held up solid in all sorts of weather conditions! There is also a TON of storage pockets inside for just about anything you would want to put in them. The only issues I have are: 1) the zipper cover on the rainfly is a bit large and thin, making it super easy to get caught in the zipper. I have a significant tear in that portion due to this. Nevertheless, it still doesn't leak, I just have to be overly careful when zipping/unzipping the rainfly zippers. 2) You have to be careful with the plastic buckles on the corners that the fly attaches to. I accidentally stepped on mine while packing the tent and broke the buckle. That said, Big Agnes sent me another one AT NO COST that will tie on, although I just sewed mine on. They offered to professionally repair it if I sent the tent in to them, but I didn't have time prior to that river trip. That was pretty awesome of them! So I would say that you can expect absolutely top-notch customer service from them. 3) The last "issue" I have is that the super neat awning setup option for the fly is, in my opinion only, to impractical to set up, so I kind of just wish it had a normal, simpler fly door. This isn't a big deal, though, as you can still use it that way also. I would definitely recommend this tent for couples who want PLENTY of room, or families with younger kids. It is absolutely light enough to backpack with, especially if you are actually sleeping three in there.

We are backpackers & started with the 2 person tent. That is a great tent, however, for 2 people, with packs, we found this tent to be the best. There is plenty of room to bring our gear in the tent with us, and either place at the bottom of the tent, or in between us. Another plus is the pockets! Love the creative use of the space. We recently had a clip break, and had the best customer service. They gave us the option of a field fix, which we did, and it's working great.

Well designed with numerous small, yet very much appreciated details. Such as 1) included tie-down stakes with a stake bag built into the tent bag (Won't forget them next time), 2) Easy to set up, color-coded poles, 3) Well designed tent fly with nice access panels on each side.

I bought the Copper Spur 3XL because it seemed to offer the best size to weight ratio. We've used it a few times now and although it feels VERY thin and fragile, it has held up well to a beach backpacking trip on the Olympic coast and a few nights on the Beartooth Plateau in Montana.

I originally got this tent because I loved the concept of the tracking pole vestibule. It looked like a cool little hangout area we could set up, and I loved that. We actually never use that feature now, but fell in love with everything else about this tent. The super simple color-coded setup can be done by one person easily, and the connection points to the tent poles create a much roomier area inside the tent. The large pockets on either end have come in so handy for all kinds of quick stashing. There are also tons of tie-out options on the rainfly for windy weather, and the two vestibules created by the rainfly are plenty big enough for our packs and shoes. The tent is very lightweight and packs up easily as well.

I had the standard UL3 but the XL version takes it to another level. It was roomy and a few inches taller which made a big difference for me and my wife. I couldn't be happier with it. The rainfly is lighter and more water resistant. The new way to pack the bag makes it alot easier and user friendly.

My son used this at Philmont for a week backpacking. Like all tents, a "3-person" is really a 2-person plus. Other than that, this is the preferred tent my son uses with the Scouts.

Got to take my grandson on his first camping trip to the Upper Peninsula. It was the first use and honestly the simplest tent I've put together that is lightweight. I had my grandson do most of the setup, and we had it up in less than 5 minutes with me showing him. I'm 6'3 and we had two 25"x78" pads comfortably in this tent. We had enough roof we definitely could have had my large dog as well comfortably. Really enjoyed the 2 exits as well.

My family took the Copper Spur HV UL 3 Long tent on our summer Colorado Trail Thru Hike. We logged over 40 nights in the tent and it withstood admirably! We had our kiddo, our dog, and two adults. We all fit with room to still play dice or cards. Vestibule space was great. We had several mega rainstorms, hailstorms, and windstorms and the wear and tear was mostly observed with the mesh material on the doors and the tent bag ripped on day 38. We loved the bug protection, the cozy vibes, and weather protection all for under 3 pounds!!! Constructive Feedback - We wished the tent bag had an extra 1/2" - 1" of diameter so fitting the tent with the footprint, tent and fly was less like Tetris. We wished for 1 more inch of width as we have the Rapide SL Insulated double pad and single pad and we think although the dimensions checked out width wise, the awesome pads caused the stress on the door which impacted the integrity of the mesh. We wished the tent stakes had grooves on all three sides like the MSR Hedgehog Stakes. Regardless we didn't really know if a tent would actually last 40 nights of constant use. The tent is so easy to put up, we even fast flied it in a hailstorm. Our 10 yr old was in charge of putting the tent up. She crushed it. So impressed with this product! Love how light the tent is too!

Extremely fast setup, stormworthy, large enough for my 30"x78" pad and the GF's 25"x72" pad.

Fantastic tent!! My favorite tent of all time. Despite this tent being crazy light weight, it appears to be very durable and incredibly well designed. I really didn't need to purchase additional gear lofts as there were plenty of pockets to keep my gear super organized. I loved the two zippers per door. I am looking forward to using this tent on more upcoming adventures. Thanks Big Agnes!

Care Instructions
Storage
Always make sure your tent is dry and free of debris before storing. Fold and roll your tent a different way each time to avoid permanent creases. Store in a cool, dry place. Never leave your tent in hot temperatures (such as a car trunk or attic space) for long periods of time, as it will damage the material coatings. Storing your tent damp can result in mildew growth, which may cause your tent to smell, leak, or delaminate. Mildew damage is not covered under warranty.
Cleaning
For light cleaning, sponge the product with warm water (not hot).
For more thorough cleaning you will need
Wash basin (or bath tub)-Warm water (not hot)
Waterproof Gear Cleaner (Big Agnes recommend products like Nikwax Tech Wash)
Sponge
Submerge your gear in warm, clean water. Gently agitate with hands. Empty dirty water. Repeat until most of the excess dirt/grime is removed and water is mostly clear
Apply waterproof gear specific wash and gently work into fabric with sponge
Rinse gear thoroughly
Hang it up to dry
Triple check that your gear is completely dry before storage or use
Do not dry clean or machine-wash. Detergents and dry cleaning solvents will damage the fabric and ruin waterproofing
Never use hot water, bleach, liquid detergents, or dishwashing liquids
Allow to dry COMPLETELY before storage or use
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight as UV exposure can compromise waterproofing
Seam Sealing
Big Agnes tents are seam sealed as part of their manufacturing process! This seam tape alone is durable enough to prevent water leakage. Any seams that have been taped do not need to be seam sealed with a liquid sealer unless you want extra protection. Make sure the seam-sealer is completely dry before re-packing your tent. Damage caused by misapplication may void warranty.
Zippers
Keeping your zippers clean will help keep the coils and sliders from wearing out. If filled with dirt, vacuum or brush zippers before storing tent. Big Agnes recommend Gear Aid Zipper Cleaner and Lubricant.
