We have 3, the lights are very strong, reliable, no leaks thus far up to 75 feet. Heavy (due to batteries) but small enough to fit into a BCD pocket. I have not had to change batteries yet so I have not encountered the problem some have in changing batteries. When traveling, I unscrew the lens 1 turn to prevent the light from being accidentally turned on. Just have to remember to tighten it before diving!

I have used this light in SoCal for daytime lobster (under rocks) and as a primary while night diving (for lobster). It has worked great, bright beam, lightweight, and reliable. However, I noticed on my night dives that the light will burn brightly for about 1 1/2 hour, then dim to about 2/3 brightness. Even then, it was still bright enough to help me snag a couple of bugs, but still dimmer than I expect. Overall, A great daytime or backup light, but I think I will be picking up an Aquasun or Light Cannon for my primary. Did I mention I like lobsters?

I gave my UK SL4 eLED 400 lumens light to my dive master in Jamaica in lieu of tips. He claimed shipping was exorbitantly expensive to his village, and he could use the light to supplement his income by (legally) hunting lobsters, so.... Instead of getting another UK light, I bought the Princeton Tec because it uses AA rechargeable batteries, and I already had a supply of those and a charger. I thought it made sense instead of lugging C cells and another charger just for the UK light. Problem is, at only 126 lumens, the Princeton Tec literally pales in comparison with the UK SL4. To make matters worse, the Princeton Tec's switch lock always slides down, meaning I have made many a dive with a hot, bright BC pocket! As long as I remember to check it periodically during the dive, the Princeton Tec makes a decent low-power dive light. I don't do much night diving or cave diving, so this light gets used mainly to brighten up the occasional swim-thru, help my camera focus in low light, or get the attention of other divers. If I can find a more powerful, compact light that uses AA batteries, I'll consign this one to backup status.

I used this on a work project that required us to leave it, in the water, on for a month. To our surprise when we came to retrieve it, it was still on and giving off light. Not as bright as when we first turned it on, but bright enough that if you shined it on a wall you could see the beam. After being left on for a month! Extremely bright and reliable. This exceeded my all ready high expectations of Underwater Kinetics.

This thing's really bright! Smaller than I was expecting...but that's a good thing! Feels really solid, like everything I've purchased from Underwater Kinetics. I've also heard from many forums that their warranty dept. is very easy to deal with...fortunately, I haven't needed to use them.

I bought this product used from LP for $40 or so. IN the dive shop the same product was [$]!! [...] It even came with fully charged bateries in it. I used it on a 75ft quarry dive and it worked great. It is no light cannon, but it is not heavy, easily attaches to a D ring for quick access and would be great in clear water.

As a dive professional who makes 4-6 dives a day -- everyday and, an avid night diver I use this Dive light religiously! It fit's in the pocket of my BCD and dangles nicely from the lanyard with a stainless D-clip(not included.)I dive shipwrecks every morning and leave it "on" for 60 - 100 minutes a day. The beam is intense and focused. I've used it as a Primary light as well as having one as my secondary on night dives. It's great for it's size. The housing and lens/recepticle can take a beating. If there is one thing I could ask U.K. to improve it would be the switch mechanism. I found that this is the first thing to fail in over 5 years of diving with this light. Underwater Kinetics is also great at servicing and or replacing parts. I highly recommend this product. What do I know... I only have over 12,000 dives!

I used two of these lights on an ongoing underwater filming project when our fixed lights kept flooding. We film the same place with fixed cameras once a month. Prior to filming we dive, affix the lights, then surface and activate the cameras for a few hours. We came back a almost a month later to switch out the light and to my amazement the light was still on! We installed and turned it on April 27th, and came back on May 21st. It was still giving off a good amount of light after being left on for 24 days! I still can't believe it. We used normal Duracell 1.5 V batteries. I checked the voltage on the batteries and one was at 0.6 V and the other three were at 1.0 V. Unbelievable.

The UK SL4 eLed is my first dive light and I have found it easy to use, rugged, and bright. I use it as my primary light for tropical night diving and as a spotting light during the day. It has a bright focused center beam with a wider low intensity outside beam. I highly recommend this light.

I've dove with this light on nearly every dive I've been on. In the lovely Wisconsin waters every dive is basically a night dive below the thermocline in local lakes. Has worked really well, nice bright light. Love that the LED does not drain the batteries like other lights may.

i would recommend this light to all commercial divers because i've tried all the other led lights and they don't last. this one is very durable and will not leak.

i think UK are the best dive lights. i use the SL4 as my primary and the miniQ40 as my back up. it's plenty bright. i'm not blind. SL4 is adequate for any occasion i have encountered. it's better than bigger 8-battery bulb lights that i have used, for sure. also the switch in the SL4 is great. wish the miniQ40 had one. and i don't know what the other people are doing, but i have no troubles inserting batteries. it's a very simple design. it's good. buy one. P.S. eLED is the way to go! DON'T buy bulb lights. batteries last so much longer (at least ten times longer) and eLEDs don't break. my tech-diver freind said "get eLED-trust me!" he was right. trust me.

I have used this light on both night dives and durring daylight. at night it really lights up the surface and is easily seen over a long distance. durring the day its great for looking under objects and into holes/cracks/crevaces.

Streamlines great when strapped to shoulder webbing. I use it with my tech gear as my primary (because I usually don't need the extra light of a big bulky lantern style for what I do)

Bought 2 of these as new back up lights for myself and my wife with the C8 eLED as our primaries. First try was with looking into the coral on a day dive. Lit pretty well from a couple feet away. Did not have to be right on top of where you were trying to look. Used as well on a night dive and the light was very bright. Could actually use as a primary in crystal clear waters. I may actually use this as a primary as I become more comfortable on night dives. My light has some sort of malfunction with the on off switch where it won't completely shut off causing the led to have some power which causes a very very weak output or it won't shut off at all. Have to contact UK about it. My wife's light has not had any problems, granted it was not used as much as mine on the trip, it was used much the same way. Overall I am happy with the lights and I hope to have mine back in working condition soon.

Light is small enough to fit in a BC pocket, but bright enough to use as a primary light on night dives. Lightbeam is a very bright blueish color with good illumination toward the outer edge of the lightbeam

I use this light during power station/utility boiler inspections. The light is very bright, the battery life is excellent and the light keeps working even after it has been dropped, (try that with the standard SL4 and you will be in the dark!!). Currently the only problem I have experienced is that at times the intensity of the light can wash out a digital photo if taken to close.

The high intensity SL4 eLED dive light is ideal for minimizing weight for travel due to its high brightness, small size and long burn time. Underwater, you can stow it out of the way in your BC pocket for when you go over the wall or peer deep under a ledge. As a back-up, the SL4 provides plenty of illumination to finish your dive. The eLED circuitry provides relatively constant brightness throughout most of the life of the batteries. As the batteries are nearly depleted the brightness of the LED falls sharply, but does not go out as happens with classical filament lamps. This brightness will persist for several days, making this light valuable for emergency situations. The SL4 eLED is also great as a photo spotting light or to illuminate gauges and dive tables.
The SL4 LED operates more efficiently and produces more light when it is cool. Underwater, the SL4 eLED burns brighter for almost half of the battery life, due to the unique way that heat is conducted away from the LED. The higher brightness consumes a little more power and slightly reduces the battery life. The SL4's eLED lamp produces 400 lumens of brightness and provides a 622' (189.6 meter) beam distance on land. To reduce glare and protect the light, the SL4 comes with a molded rubber bezel cover. The rotary switch is easily activated with the thumb and index finger for single hand operation. The Light is powered by 4 x C"-cell alkaline batteries (included) with a burn time of 10 hours. The light measures 6.18" x 2.48" x 1.69" (15.7 cm x 6.3 cm x 4.3 cm), weighs 15.02 oz. (425.81 g) with batteries and is depth rated to 500' (152.4 meters). The SL4 is made from durable ABS and polycarbonate plastic, available in multiple colors, includes a wrist lanyard, an owner's manual, and is proudly made in the USA.
