This liner is extremely versatile

This liner is extremely versatile since it is comfortable by itself and increases the warmth of my 30 degree sleeping bag. The material is soft and good next to skin. I use it both couch surfing and when climbing.

So cozy!

Where has this been all my life? My Boy Scout camping trips, field exercises in the Marines, and countless backpacking trips would have been so much more comfortable! Adds a noticeable bit of warmth, but the best part is that it feels like I'm sleeping in my sheets at home, rather than inside of a nylon bag. Love it!

Sweet liner!

This liner is awesome. I adds warmth, and saves me weight as I don't pack my zero down bag. I just take my lighter sleeping bag and this liner! I've used it inside my bag on hut trips when the hut is freezing at night in the winter, and on its own in the summer! It has become an all season add on for me. I am 5'4 and 120 lbs and there is plenty of room in there for me.

It really worked!

I went to Central Idaho for a seven day, six night elk hunt. Temperatures were projected to drop into the teens and low 20s most nights. My Kelty sleeping bag is rated to 20 degrees, but as we all know, that is not the comfort rating. I purchased this liner hoping it would give me the warmth I needed each night. It worked great. There was not a single night when I felt cold. Instead, I was truly warm.

Placebo or not?

This thing is great for an added layer of warmth. It is lightweight and feels like a sheet inside your bag or quilt. Not sure yet on how much it adds thermally, but is good to fill those gaps around you to improve the bag's efficiency. Is it a placebo effect? With it being as thin as it is, it does make you feel warmer by having more fabric contacting your skin. It also helps keep the bag/quilt cleaner which is a huge benefit.

It's very thin

I was expecting the traditional fleece. It did add some warmth and it saved me from freezing in my 30 degree bag when the temperatures dropped to the 20s on a recent trip. But I was still cold. I don't want to return it because it's a hassle and it does work but I didn't see much difference from my regular western mountaineering liner and this one.

In Colorado, even summer nights can get cold. It's good insurance to have the ciompact liner when the temperatures dip and the summer sleeping bag isn't enough.

Perfect for what I wanted the piece of gear to do. I am a believer in layering for my clothing, and this works the same for my sleep system. Use it by itself on hot/warm nights or for added warmth in my sleeping bag for colder times.

Small package that packs a punch

This liner is smaller than a soda can which is essential for backpacking. Did not believe this would work at first. Now, I carry it on all cold weather trips. The layer does help keep ya warm! It has also held up well with washes and monthly use.

Absolute Must camping item!

I have used this item on 4 seperate trips to Zimbabwe, and countless camping trips here in Texas. I went with a cheaper sleeping bag and added this liner! The movement in the bag is awesome! Packs down small too! 5 stars!

Bought it for my son that is using it for the first time camping this weekend, hence the only 4 star rating. Seems well made and stitched and appears it should work as advertised. Will update this review after he returns.

Toasty

I bought this for a motorcycle camping trip in southern Utah over thanksgiving. The weather was colder than usual This kept me warm and cozy. This liner made my 20 degree bag onto a 5 degree bag. It packs down small, easy to get in and out of.

TOTALLY WORTH IT

Purchased for a winter Boy Scout backpacking trip that I knew was going to be extra cold. Had never used a liner before and had no idea if it would actually help. However, the temperature dropped to the low 20's and I stayed toasty warm all night. The liner acts like a big stretchy sack which I initially thought would be annoying, but barely noticed it once I got in. Admittedly, snaking into the liner while in a small tent was a challenge but it was not the liner's fault.

Must needed for warm sleep!

Definitely helps me keep warm and keep my sleeping bag clean of moisture and smell! Highly recommend this liner for anyone who wants a multi-season sleep system or just wants to sleep warmer. Wish the liner was a bit lighter but the extra weight is worth it!

Don't Leave Without It

By Stephanie

I was very reluctant to buy this at first, I like to keep my pack to a minimum, but a friend convenience me before going on a winter backpacking weekend, and I couldn't be more thankful. It's so cozy, stretchy, soft, and totally transformed cold weather camping for me. In fact, I love it so much that I take it with me even in the warmer months as I found it to be useful for a number of things, like a light layer for star gazing, a back-up pillow (before I got a Sea to Summit Pillow), and an e...

Game Changer

By Jorie H.

I bought this to supplement my 25 degree sleeping bag while camping in Northern California in 30 degree weather. I had previously camped in Utah in similar temperatures without it and been consistently cold in my sleeping bag. Once I had the liner, it made a clear difference. Other people I was camping with reported being cold at night and I never felt it. I also layered my Sea to Summit Coolmax with it for an added layer. Would definitely recommend for people who run cold.
