This tent has seen us through the winds of Patagonia and Iceland, the rains of South African wet season, the heat of Australia and the colds of the Canadian winter. For over 100 nights in this tent, we have been dry and the poles have stayed strong as ever. It has been four years of heavy use, and I feel like we can get at least another year out of her. Our only complaint is the single entry layout. Holds up superbly in the wind, but doesn't leave much space for two humans and two big backpacks.

I bought a new one, coming october 2016. The problem for now that I am experiencing is damaged and sticky on top cover (fly) seal taped when I kept it. When used during in rainy season, still seepage occurs on top cover (fly). Hopefully needed improvemen for this tent so that the other buyers don't experience like me at this time. overall, this tent is impressive and good looking.

I love this tent, I was on a work/photo trip in the U.S and I was debating whether to rent a camper or rent a small car and buy a tent. I got it in Charlottesville, Virginia and camped through Shenandoah NP then around California for a couple of weeks. Perfect!

I have used this tent many times backpacking and am thoroughly impressed with the quality. It is quick and easy to set up, and the fly works wonderfully. This tent has made it through many windy, rainy nights while keeping my companion and I dry. The tent has sufficient space for two, however depending on how much gear you have it can become cramped. In all the times I have put this tent to use I have only had one minor issue with condensation! I recommend this product for anyone who enjoys backpacking and minimalist gear that is reasonably light and packs down well!

I wanted this tent for a bicycle tour around Colorado. The first item sent had a rain tarp that was of poor quality. I returned that item and was sent another tent and tarp immediately. THe second items sent were of the high quality I expect from North Face. THanks for making my order right!

I love the tent. I find a little tight for 2 person use. This is a very high quality product with one flaw, my fly is starting to delaminate and become very sticky. Otherwise the tent is the best! I find it such a great sleeping environment sometimes i will set it up in my backyard and sleep outside.

Rented this tent for 7 days in Torres del Paine. Despite abuse from previous renters (bent poles and worn out zipper), it stood up to 60-80kph winds heroically. It was also light enough to carry as a solo tent for over 80km but roomy enough for a second person. What I did NOT like about it was the absurd variety of clips and gadgets to connect the poles to the canopy, and the plastic hub broke. Could have been so much simpler to just make them all regular clips. And why don't the connections from the fly to the feet have grommets at the back like they do at the front?

Bought my first Tadpole in 1989 and used it extensively for backpacking, cycle tours and even backyard overnights. Literally hundreds of nights. Retired it eventually - though poles & tent body are still useable! Got a Tadpole 2 and it is equally perfect. Looking forward to many nights with this tent! Thank you!

I love this little guy already after one use at 6,500ft on Mount Shuksan. The tadpole is a reasonable weight for the durability, and provides both fantastic warmth and ventilation. The only thing I need to adjust is adding longer chord for snow stakes to be deeply buried, as the chord provided is very short.

Yes... first impressions for this tent. more lightweight than my old tent. and the most important is very.. very.. a lot of space. Stable, windproof, waterproof, packable... Thanks for your innovation The North Face

the TADPOLE 2 is a tent that has been optimizing important details, leading to a greater degree than it was historically recognized design. In this new version the materials and finish manages to be impeccable. The space actually provides greater internal comfort. The length allows tall people fit comfortably. The structural concept is great, very balanced under high wind loads. The door design is enough for two people. Ventilation during heavy rain has been more than satisfactory, without excessive condensation with two people. There are several gains in this new design: 1) - Maintain the reduced footprint area and height required to install the tent, very useful in certain scenarios. 2) - Without making sacrifices in quality of materials and finishes have been made to lighten the weight and volume of packaging. 3) - Properly assemble is bombproof. 4) - The internal space optimized. 5) - good and constant spacing between the inner layer and the rain cover. 6) - with minimal practice is very easy to assemble and disassemble. In my opinion this new design keeps historically known as the Tadpole classic, adding new details that optimize its known ability as a backpacking tent.

Ok, I bought this tent for an extensive 6 month motorcycle tour of the USA. I love this tent, sets up quick, super roomy and built beautifully. Pack up time equally fast. The tent was exposed to almost daily use and only intermittent rain, but often heavy due and condensation which was no problem till the fifth month when it began to retain water. Dry time grew to 2 hours in direct sunlight and that wasn't fun. As I was out in the wilderness I applied a silicon polymer and that rejuvenated it. Over all, I don't believe many tents are made for prolonged use, so I rate this tent highly and still love it and use it, busy planning my next adventure with it :)

Okay, so maybe the title is slight exaggeration, but the tent is tiny when folded up. Take note of where the folding/rolling is when you unpack the tent and you will have no problem getting it back in the bag. with plenty of room for a tarp or footprint (not included) Tent goes up very fast, although a 3 pole design 2 of them are connected making for a haste free setup. (looking at the picture, the end opposite the door, the poles intersect, they permanently connect here) I haven't actually yet used the tent but it is plenty big enough, it is tapered towards the feet and is designed for two people to sleep face to face and would cozily accommodate 2 larger persons who plan on a little elbow knocking. fly goes on easily, everything is very lightweight but durable.

Great 2 person tent. If you are looking for tons of head room this is the tent for you. The pole design makes a vertical wall that can have 3 person play cards / board games inside the tent. 2 doors 2 equal size vestibule, great space for gears in each side. Also I love the vestibule door option on this tent, you can use 2 trek poles on each side of the middle portion of the vestibule and make a wide shed opening on the tent while relaxing at campsite or you can use the left or right portion of the vestibule as doors and stake-out the large middle portion. Will definitely recommend it to a friend.

I bought this tent for backpacking, and have to return it. It is featured as a lightweight tent, but with its extremely long poles with fat plastic hinges and metal stakes, it was way too bulky and heavy for backpacking. However, it is very spacious. Two adults could sleep comfortably with room to spare and the extra-long rainfly provides ample space for storing gear. If the tent were split between 2 people, it may work for backpacking. Sadly, it will not work for one person to carry alone.

for the price from Sunny Sports, you can't beat this tent. could be lighter, but when you share the load, it is not bad.
