Solid build quality and looks good. Can’t fault North Face there. But the bag is highly impractical. There is excessive cushioning / felt like lining all around. This translates to reduced carrying capacity. I picked up this bag for daily + excursion + travel use. It’s ok as a daily backpack for couple of devices. But once you pack those in, there is no space left for anything else. Can’t even fit my packed lunch in. The bag absolutely useless to carry any gear for excursions. I would not recommend this bag for travel.

The bag itself is very nice. However the problem I encountered is the length of the back padding. The picture shows the bookbag sitting upright however I have had trouble recreating that image. With the extended length of the back padding, the bookbag does not sit nicely but instead, constantly falls forward.

Great features for hiking or traveling for a weekend. Lots of room, great bottle holders and pockets. The back is stiff, so might not fit all the way under an airplane seat. I'm petite (5'1", 115 lbs.), so it's a bit big on me, but I don't mind. Others might prefer the women's version if they're small.

My daughter loves her backpack. Its a very durable material and her books and notebooks fit well and the compartment for her laptop is very secured. The straps are also very comfortable for her back.

i have been a loyal osprey pack user for a while now. i'm impressed with the borealis. i like all the features inside and out. i think the only two things i would change would be to make the key ring clip higher up on the inside of the bag and shorter. where it currently is now, it's at the lower-ish part of the bag in a compartment, so you have do dig down to get it. if your bag is stuffed full could be a bit of a pain digging it out. second change would to put just a little more padding in the shoulder straps.

Got my North Face Borealis bag in a green and white color way and was quite amazed at how it looked. green is my favorite color and the green on this bag is perfect! I have one 5 credit college class that required me to carry 2 big books, a binder, and I also bring my 17" laptop. The bag was still comfortable and easy on the shoulders with room to spare! not sure how it would be carrying 2 classes worth of books though... overall nice Bag! I love it.
