This is a great backpack for women. I am 5'2" and it is not too big and bulky like most packs, but still roomy enough to carry the essentials. It is 18x14. The black with blue trim is very nice. I would recommend it for the office, school, and day trips (great for the NYC subway).

I bought this backpack because my former North Face Jester was getting holey after many years of intense use. I love the way the Amira looks- the color is great, and it looks compact even when it's stuffed. Very comfortable- padded back and straps. I was a little disappointed in the carrying capacity after my Jester, but it was just the right size for my trip to London (airplane, daytrips). Could probably hold 2 large textbooks and smallish laptop (macbook) comfortably; so I'd recommend it to a graduate student but probably not undergrad. I don't have a laptop, but the pack does have a stiff back and a sleeve to protect them (my ipad goes in the sleeve).

The size is great, not too bog or too small, but the place to put the computer is really tight even my laptop is not too big.

TNF Alborz daypack is very comfortable for hiking cross-country all day. Very simple with adequate space. No complaints.

Light, comfortable, functional, and stylish: if you're looking for a quality--though affordable--bag for school (or what have you), then consider the North Face Amira. I know that the bag is listed as "for women," however it's great for men as well (I'm a guy after all and love the bag)!

I use this backpack for work, basically carrying a mini office on my back. Very durable. Easy to spot clean. Multiple pockets. Front zipper (smaller of the two pockets) snags up a bit due to the flap of material over it and the angle of the zipper. Well worth the trouble for this backpack. Highly recommend.

Overall, a great day pack. My only gripe is that the zipper is a little tough to zip up. My guess is that will be less of a problem after breaking in. All around a great pack though. Plenty of space, and a simple clean design.

I love this daybag, I use it mainly just for school, and it's amazing. It carries my laptop and books for all of my classes without getting the huge bulkiness of other bags. The thick straps make it easy on the back, it feels like you aren't carrying a heavy load even if you are. Best bag I've ever bought!
