I love this water filter and so do the two companions with whom I camped for a week. Easy to use and clean. Very packable. Excellent tasting filtered water.

Glad I finally got around to getting the replacement - it had been several years (way too long) with the old one, and the trip to Sand Dunes last year finally put it under. With the new filter the pump works like brand new all over again.

I have owned an original Sweetwater water filter since about 1996. Works great. Periodically, I need new cartridges. I like to keep one spare on hand so I have a backup ready for use. Thank you to customer service for explaining that it is the same filter cartridge as before, now black exterior instead of white & red.

Doesn't seal properly on the bottom. About 2/3 of the water squirts out of the rubber gasket seal near the inlet hose. I largely fixed this by wrapping the gasket with a thin rubber band, but the point is that I shouldn't have to do that. In addition, the thread on the top is rotated, so that when the pump is fully attached, the handle can't be folded fully because it runs into the outlet port. On the plus side, it's black, just like the original.

I use this filter a few times a year, from backpacking and day-hikes, to week-long back country archery hunts. Aside from changing the filter cartridge once every couple of years, it's flawless! I love this filter! In my opinion, the only improvement would be a higher flow rate to make filtering for a group go quicker... but that's what MSR makes the AutoFlow Gravity filter for!

I use this product for our annual elk hunts. No doubt in my mind when I use this filter that I will have fresh clean drinkable water.

Have been a fan of this pump for years. In my opinion it's the easiest to pump of all that I have tried and very easy to clean.
