I purchased these in an XS with a XL length because the regular length was too short. Unfortunately the XL length was too long so I settled for the size S regular length and I am happy with my decision. I am 5?3? 100 pounds and the bit of extra room makes these pants easier to slip on over hiking boots and wear over fleece pants. These pants are very lightweight and packable so convenient to carry when bike riding and hiking. So far they have held up in a light rain. The waist does run small.

These older style Marmot rain pants are my favorite. They are light weight and work well, especially for hiking and act as an extra layer of warmth in windy conditions. They are not the best if you are going to be sitting on a wet seat for an extended time. I prefer the half zip to full zip pants even though it means being a bit more careful if your boots are wet and muddy. I am a medium in most clothes (5'4", 134 lbs) but prefer the large in these pants so that I can layer as needed depending on temperature. I am a PreCip fan even though the inner coating wears off after several years of repeated use. The price is right and buying a replacement item (jacket and/or pants) after 5-8 years is still a bargain compared to the more expensive and usually less comfortable options on the market. I live in Oregon so rain is a year round part of my life. Highly Recommend.

Product as described. Bought it for an upcoming hiking trip in England where we expect to encounter rain. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

These pants are made well. I am 5'3" and I ordered the short length and they fit perfect for me. I work outside and I use these pants in winter as a top layer.

These pants are NOISY for the first several hours that they are worn, so try breaking them in before wearing them in settings where silence is valued (like bird-watching). These pants are sized to wear on their own or over a thin layer, like a pair of silk pants or thin thermal material. If you prefer to wear them over blue jeans or heavier pants, consider ordering a size larger than you would normally wear.
