We’ve all met her, the girlfriend your friends & parents love. She seems to have it all going on, but for some reason, it just never feels right. WOW! I thought I had finally found the pack I was in searching for. For months I have been searching for a replacement for my Kelty Tioga 5500. Not because it’s broke, but because I thought I could find an internal frame that carried as well as my Tioga. What I always loved about my Tioga is the ability to widen the shoulder straps to accommodate my broad shoulders. The Redcloud 90L seemed to have it all; quality materials, great size for my multiday hiking gear, tons of organizing pockets, easy adjustment suspension, lots of convenient attachment loops, & a frame that could support the frame without adding tons of weight. Unfortunately, the shoulders straps are too narrow for my frame. If you have any mass to your traps & shoulders, I think you'll find the strap width not uncomfortable, but annoying. This is a great pack @ a fair price. I passed mine onto a young Boy Scout who loves this pack. For me, I was forced into a higher price point pack to find the width I prefer in my shoulder area.

Best pack I have ever worn for comfort! I love how adjustable it is. It holds all my things for me and my 8!year old on multi day trips. All my gear is Kelty and it fits the outfitter pro 2 , 2 inflatable beds, cosmic sleeping bag , e-tool, water pump, flash boil stove and a bunch more comfort stuff like food. I only wish they had some large side pockets.

These backpacks are exceptional. Light for the size. Room all your gear and more. The four adjustment points make the packs fit perfectly to your body.

Excellent product. The same high quality as my old (20-plus years old) Kelty Bigfoot 5200 cubic inch backpack. The 90 is approximately 5500 cubic inches, more then enough for any backpacking/travel needs. I recently used it on a flight from the U.S. to Asia...it held a LOT, and came through looking like brand-new (which, considering the way airline baggage people, not to mention the TSA bozos, handle baggage, is short of a miracle). The Kelty staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I highly recommend Kelty products...'wouldn't hesitate to purchase another item, from their website (as I did), or in-store. Great job, Kelty!

I have only used this backpack for one 10-mile backpacking trip so far so I don't have a lot of experience with it yet, but I think it is an excellent pack. It can hold a lot of gear so I will have to be careful not to overload it with more than I can carry, but I wanted a large pack so I can go winter camping and carry extra clothes. The adjustment system seems to work very well and the multiple external pockets make it easy to organize and find things. I think the external water bottle pockets could be improved. I think the mesh might snag on a branch and tear and my water bottle has fallen out of the pocket when taking the pack off. I don't think that's enough of a reason to mark the pack down one star though. As far as the colors go, I don't understand why some folks are complaining about them. Both the green color which I got and the blue color are very attractive IMHO. If people don't like a colorful pack, they can always get the black one. I would recommend this pack to anyone looking for a large, high quality pack at a good price.

I recently purchased this backpack knowing that there was the possibility of adjustment issues because there isn’t a women’s version (I have found this to be true above 90L in every brand I have looked at). I have loved almost everything about this pack, since I got it except one thing. Being a fairly small person (5’4” and 108 lb), I’m worried that once I get a lot of weight in this pack I won’t have enough adjustment available in the hip belt if I need to cinch it down. I called to ask if I could buy the hipbelt from a smaller pack (perhaps the women’s Redcloud 80) but I was told that the option to buy just a hipbelt isn’t available. I would really love it if Kelty would offer a women’s hipbelt even if the market wouldn’t support a full women’s version of the 90L and 110L Redclouds. I am really sad that I might need to replace the hipbelt with something from another brand (if it’s even possible) because the Kelty hipbelt is so cushy and comfortable. Please help out me and my fellow petite ladies who need 90L+ options.

Just finished a 56 mile trip through the Appalachian trail and this pack was wonderful. I prefer over Gregory and Deuter. Just wish it had a better hydration system. You have to unpack a bit to insert the bladder. Other then that it was amazing!!

Packed this pack full for a 10 hike through the Smokey Mountains. Carried it for 40 miles and felt comfortable and no stress on shoulders. Easy to make adjustments while on the trail and

I was originally searching for a large enough pack to accomplish multi-day backpacking trips with my 5 year old son (i.e. carrying enough gear for two people) and the Red Cloud 90 is the perfect bag for this. I've taken this on multiple long distance trips into the Trinity Alps Wilderness and it's become my go-to bag not only for family trips but also solo ones as well. Even with smaller loads, the pack distributes loads well and doesn't feel sloppy. It's comfortable, adjustable, and so far, extremely durable. It's also a great balance between overall weight and features. For me, external pockets and storage organization are preferred and the Red Cloud 90 is extremely well thought-out in that regard. I'm 5ft 7in and 170lbs and it fits great with plenty of torso adjustability remaining. The black and grey color scheme looks great as well. Thanks Kelty for the well designed and affordable pack!

Just got back from my first backpacking trip with this pack and it was perfect. I’d used packs in the past that would have my shoulders sore after 5 miles however with this one I didn’t get sore once. There was also a ton of space for all my gear and then some. The pockets on the side allow for easy access to water bottles and the ones on the waist strap worked perfectly for storing my phone for whenever I needed to take a quick pic. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a new backpack.

I purchased the Redcloud Jr for my son a few weeks back to use in Boy Scouts. After a recent trip I decided I needed to upgrade to a larger pack myself, so I decided on the Redcloud 90. Very happy with it so far. I was concerned at first a 90L would almost be too big and would be uncomfortable. After getting this, I am glad I chose it over something slightly smaller. Has enough room for all my gear on extended trips but comfortable enough that I can pack it light and still use on weekend adventures. It doesn't feel like you have a huge pack on. It's very comfortable and the straps are very easy to adjust. The only 2 things I would ask Kelty to change about it was the colors available.. and more individual pockets inside the main compartments for smaller items. The side pockets are nice and big but when full I had to adjust to make my trekking poles attach. The bottom sleeping back compartment is divided from the main but only by a removable flap and it doesn't actually seal.. so items can fall from the top to the bottom. I would like to have seen this actually sewn in to 2 individual areas.. but it's a little thing. Overall there is very little bad about this and a whole lot good! I love it and would buy again without concern. It's well built and very durable.

I bought two of these packs. One in the Twilight Blue and one in the Ponderosa Pine for me and my son for our Trek at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. Our Trek was a Rugged 77 miles, and the back packs held up greatly. Only a few minor problems. The minor problems, we had Camelback 1.5 liter water bottles for our trek, they don't fit well in the side pouches. They stayed in the pouches and were clipped onto the pack with carabiners. Our trek poles couldn't be placed on the sides, because our camp shoes were in the side pockets and it made it hard to get the trek poles in and out of the sides. We placed the trek poles in the center outer pouch with the handles down, it tore the mess on the center pouch a little. The zipper on the sleeping bag compartment stick at times, other then that, these backs are great. Once you have the pack dialed in and adjusted to you it works great. Our whole trek was a Rugged 77 miles, the pack fit great, even on my back. I only had a few problems with the shoulder straps, but once i got them adjusted the pack felt great. It can hold a lot in it. I had a Sumo jet boil cooking pot, a kelty 2 garrison 2 person tent, a kelty tuck 22 sleeping bag, a camel back 3 liter bladder, and all my gear and still had room in my pack. My son had no problems with his pack, since another scout used his trek poles. I'd highly recommend this pack to anyone, including scouts going to Philmont. Oh the pack also cleans up very easy.

The backpack has everything you need and the sling pack top is a great addition. The 90L is a little bit smaller than Id expected so if your like me looking for a bag to travel overseas with then the 120L is the one for you. But all in all I will be keeping the 90L and doing my backpacking internationally with it.

The pack arrived quickly. I have used it several times training for a Grand Canyon backpacking trip; I have walked up and down hills with 28 pounds in it. Very comfortable.

Recently bought this pack and the PerfectFIT suspension system is amazing. Hard to get used to at first but really makes light work of a heavy load. Wish there were more colors to choose from but I can deal. (i.e. Both colors look better in person) Such a good pack for the price! Forget spending anymore money this is the perfect pack!

I need a super comfortable large pack to ease my back pain and this pack is perfect. Adjustments on the fly are effortless. The pine color matches much of Montana's forests. I started backpacking in the early 60's with a Kelty and looks like I will retire backpacking with a Kelty !!! This is a premium backpack and I love it.

When you're heading out for multiple days on the trail or in the backcountry, the Kelty Red Cloud 90 Internal Pack hauls everything you need to make the trip great. Featuring the advanced Perfect-FIT suspension system, you can easily adjust the fit with the integrated adjustment system while wearing the pack. The shoulder straps and hip belt are engineered specifically for a man's shape to give you a close-fitting pack that doesn't hamper your movements. The top-loading design also features a removable lid that converts into a sling pack, and you have front panel access to all your gear. A stretchy front shove-it pocket lets you stash a layer when the temperatures start to heat up, and plenty of other pockets keep all your gear organized, like zippered side pockets and a large front pocket with organization. You can lash on your extra gear with the 2 hide-away ice axe loops and stash snacks close at hand in the hip belt pockets. The Kelty Red Cloud 90 Internal Pack gives you the most comfortable fit with a ventilating spacer mesh back panel, a lumbar support, and spacer mesh shoulder straps, waist belt, and lumbar region. Stabilize your load and center it exactly where you want it with the load-lifter straps, belt stabilizer straps, and sternum strap.
