Bought this to be used for upcoming Philmont Trip with son's Boy Scout Troop. Used to be an external frame user, but after using an internal frame for Philmont 2011, I decided to switch to internal packs. After much research and talking to local camping people, I decided to go with the Deuter AirContact. I was not disappointed. It had all the room and comfort as an Osprey that I was looking for along with a built-in rain cover which w/ Osprey would have been an extra $30-$40. I like the added velcro hooking idea for a water bladder, but don't understand why there is only one out passage for the drinking tube. The sleeping bag compartment is big enough to hold both my sleeping bay and tent (both are in cinch sacks). The only thing that I don't like is the weight of the pack at almost 6 pounds. So for a minimulist, I would not recommend. Overall, I believe this will be used for my upcoming Philmont trip and beyond.

Have not had it very long but it seems to be pretty solid so far. Very comfortable with 40lbs of gear loaded. Wish these internals had a few more outside pockets..
