Was awesome the first few times I used it. After that, the rain fly zipper stopped working. No matter what I tried, the zipper would not stay closed. I even bought one of those zipper repair things. It closed the zipper, but once you moved the rain fly around to get it installed, it easily broke open. The interlocking teeth just would not stay together.

I am looking for the tent pole lengths/ specifications. I need to buy some replacement poles. Does coleman sell replacement poles for this tent? I have used this tent a couple years, but the poles do not hold up well in high winds.

When I originally got this tent, a pole snapped during first set-up. Coleman was quick in replacing, which seemed great, until my first camping trip. Poles would not keep proper shape (they would bend inwards, no matter how I tried to rearrange. Just set it up again, and you can see how some arch and some seem straight. Very disappointed in the quality. (My apologies for sideways photos, but my phone was not cooperating)

This is my third summer utilizing this rant and i absolutely love it. mom and two young boys, I've never had an issue setting it up solo and takes me about 15 minutes (only because I'm picky about the rainfly). No cracking poles, no separating zippers, seams are holding up wonderfully, I can't say enough good thing about this tent! It's still spacious enough for the three of us to be quite comfortable!

Bought one in 2013 and it is still used every year! didn't had much money so bought a display piece because that was the only one left in the store. I was under the impression that it will last for maximum 2 years, But its now 2020 and I am still using this tent! Our family of 4 makes 1 long trip and 2-4 small camping trips every year. Had 2 little ones back then and we could fit in this tent pretty easily. Now that the kids have grown up, we carry another 2 person tent along with the Hooligan 3 tent. My tent has seen quite a few national parks and state parks and rain and wind. Once in 2018 the floor got wet in the rain, I sealed it with waterproof spray from Home Depot and have been using the tent again. Not a single thing is broken yet but I must say I use things carefully. I have seen my friends and how they use their stuff and I have to literally pull my hair. So yeah, there are many people like that in the world and this tent is not for them. Note that this is a relatively heavy tent (meaning not that bad) and a bit difficult to setup but once you get the hang of it then its not that bad. I have taken this tent for a couple of backpacking trips though! I would say this tent is pretty good for car camping and occasionally for backpacking, it will hold much better compared to other inexpensive tents. No other tent provides such a large rain fly and guys and vestibule. Ah! I once used the vestibule to finish cooking our food when it suddenly started raining hard on us. Other times its a nice place to keep backpacks, shoes, chairs etc.

This tent is easy up and easy down into the original container. It is rain proof and breathes well. Lots of room for my wife and I and all our gear. Our wiener dog loves it as well, plenty of room for his bed. That is when he doesn't wiggle into one of our bags.

I received this sweepstake offer to review a tent. While I don't own one this one looks like it would be ideal for myself, my boyfriend and our dog. We do own the the road trip grill and it performs great.

Really inconvenient to get in and out of the vestibule porch set up. Also had troubles with the zipper even after the first use.

Pros: Easy set-up. Roomy enough for two adults and gear Cons: This is NOT a backpacking tent, too heavy & bulky but that was obvious upfront so that is not what I bought it for. Rainfly started leaking first night of rain.

Since I just started backpacking, I didn't want to purchase a $300+ tent to start with. I've used this tent on 4 trips and love it. It has very good ventilation and the rail-fly is outstanding. The large mesh panels provide great views of the start when not used with the rain-fly. Probably not a cold weather tent but it works great during the summer months.

This tent was bought to replace the 1990's Coleman instant tent I used for Cub Scout camp outs. Ironically, the first time I used it was for a weekend getaway with my husband. But what impressed me the most how well the tent breathed, despite the lack of windows. Before, I always woke up to condensation on the inside walls of my old tent, as well as sleeping bags and anything else we had inside the tent. With the Hooligan, we didn't have any condensation inside the tent all weekend. It was great! The vestibule was nice to have, but I will admit the entrance for it is even smaller than the entrance to the main tent. If getting on you knees or stooping low is problem, than this is not the tent for you. For my soon to be Boy Scout, I love the vestibule idea as he can stow items out of the rain if he needs to do so.

I got this for a couple of weekends for the summer camping outside in up north Michigan. I also have used this in my backyard at home in lower Michigan and it keeps up with the weather. It's even with stood the rain and even snow. I would recommend this to people who backpack a lot or use a small but comfortable tent and who aren't trying to Shell out a lot of cash. It is durable and affordable, two things I look for in a tent.

Went to a motorcycle rally with this tent. Setup took about 6 minutes. Held up to rain and 45mph wind gusts

I carry this for myself. I wanted the biggest tent for my gear that still gave me room to maneuver in. Even though I could get a lighter tent, the difference negligible.Well worth it for times when I find a friend along the way!

This is a great tent for camping BY YOURSELF! It’s lightweight and provides plenty of room for one person and all their gear. I especially like the rainfly “vestibule” for keeping muddy/dirty shoes &boots outside the tent. I. Initially bought this model on sale as an extra to supplement my 6 person family size, but ended up using it myself. Buy it!

Took this on a weekend back pack trip. Rained like crazy. This one was dry and comfortable. Two other tents made by someone else leaked. We ended up with six people and three large dogs in this one for a night. It was comfortable and dry. Woke up to sunshine and a beautiful day. This made the trip.

We use this tent for quick weekend trips. Anyone can set it up in under five minutes. I love how the rain fly extends in front of the tent. It creates a great dry space for extra storage.

Our troop bought 6 of these to replace the old tents we used and abused for camping and backpacking. Reviewed and had a couple of parents who bought and used for our trips for over a year. Durable, lightweight and roomy. The color stands out when you are across the way.

Anytime you need to go camping and want to have everything light as possible for hiking to your site, weight is an issue. This tent is a compromise because it’s not the lightest, but it give you room for two people and your gear to fit inside with you. That’s very helpful when it’s storming outside.

Great entry level all weather tent!

The best things about this tent is you really could put 3 people and gear in it; and the rain fly does a couple of things really well. In windy/rainy conditions it keeps the rain out and when condensation is an issue...it collects on the fly and not the inside of the tent wall where it could wick into your sleeping bags and gear. The Holligan is easy to set up, but more difficult to take down and fit back into carry case. It is also a bit on the cumberson and heavy side. It would be difficult...

#1 Tent for Our Troop
By WildTurkey
The Coleman Hooligan 3-person tent is the ONLY tent we buy for our Boy Scout Troop. For years now we have joked that this is the Official Troop Tent. We love how the rain fly goes all the way to the ground and that there is a vestibule at the front (a "front porch" we call it) to put your wet/dirty boots and gear before going into the tent. Just a great tent all around, even Boy Scouts can't destroy these things,we only need to replace every few years and we go camping every month.
Coleman Hooligan 3 Tent
The Coleman Hooligan 3 Tent assures the perfect accommodation on your camping trips. With its exclusive WeatherTec system, a moisture-free atmosphere is ensured within the tent. Add to this a fully covered vestibule which enables dry entry for a comfortable experience. With a spacious interior, this tent gives you ample room for movement and to keep your backpack. Large windows help regulate air circulation to create a cool environment. Since the pole sleeves are snag-free, the tent can be set up within minutes. Thanks to its full-fly feature, complete protection is ensured even during severe weather conditions. Its patented, welded floors, and inverted seams prevent water from entering the tent. Buy the Coleman Hooligan 3 Tent to sleep comfortably on all your outdoor trips!
