Coleman Elite Sundome 6, 12 x 10 ft. Six-Person Tent

Overall, this tent is good. The size works perfectly for us - a family of 4, we have room to put our bags as well as sleeping space. It's pretty easy to put up - definitely easier with two people - and goes up quickly. We had a Coleman WeatherMaster tent previously for many years, that had a screened in area attached. The tent wore out, and we decided we didn't need the screened in area this time around, but we loved the light feature and the front door that swings open/shut. (doesn't have to be zipped/unzipped every time you enter/exit.) We were excited to see those features in this tent. We just got back from our first trip using this tent, and that's where the 3 stars come from. While all of the above are positive?this tent leaks in all 4 corners. We camped for 3 nights, and had a decent amount of rain?not really hard downpours, just long stretches of constant, light rain. Eventually, water puddled in all 4 corners, and we had to put a tarp over the tent. This wasn't a major event, and it didn't spoil our trip in the slightest, but this tent is literally called a "WeatherMaster" and says that it's guaranteed to keep you dry. Obviously, that's not quite true. Upon close inspection, there are very tiny pin holes in all the corners, where you can see pin pricks of light coming through?so that's obviously the problem. The light switch that hangs by the door was snapped off the little hanger plate, upon unrolling the tent, and is unable to be attached, so it just hangs there. Again, this isn't a big deal, but when you buy a tent brand new, you expect all features to be in mint condition. So that was a bit disappointing, quality wise. Anyway, overall we like the tent, and it's features. We will have to see what we can do to seal those pin holes in the corners. Full disclosure - we bought this tent on 60% off sale straight from the website. I feel we got a good deal on it, and that's why the issues mentioned don't bother me AS much. If I paid full price for this tent, it would be a dealbreaker.

This is our second Elite Sundome 6-Person. We love the D-door and it being lit. Both make things so much more convenient. However the one we just received has much poorer workmanship than our first. Seams are not quite right in some places making the tension of the flexible poles weird, curving them unevenly. Stitching is messy and bunchy in places too. The light switch mount broke immediately. We managed OK with it that way, but it is not ideal.

My grandkids love to go camping in this tent with me which has plenty of room for two queen mattresses and some overnight luggage. The light is a nice feature. Only complaint is that two of the poles broke after only a few trips - will need to replace before the next trip.

I have been using Coleman Sundome tents for nearly 20 years. They are easy to assemble and roomy on the inside. I just purchased my 5th 10 x10. My tent stays up for for 24 days during the Kerrville Folk Festival and during some of the most brutal weather in Texas... It has withstood wind, hail, and torrential rain. In a really bad storm I might get a little water from the corners.

Bought this so my family can all camp together at our Cub Scout Pack Family Camp. We put it up to try it out and it looks good but I highly doubt it would truly fit 6 without feeling like sardines. It also moved quite a bit in the wind so we’ll see how it holds up. I do like the bottom vent and the door. I saw the Darkroom tent at Costco right after I got this for only $10 more. Would have gone for that over this as I don’t sleep as well when it is light out.

It is a great tent. We like our room so it is perfect for two people. You could sleep more but very roomy for two.

This is my second Coleman tent and is an improvement on the basic tent that preceded it. It has all the space and adds some features I really appreciate. Having 2 doors with windows in each provides much better ventilation and convenience options for entering and leaving the tent. The hinged door is effective in keeping bugs out and just easier to use, especially for a longer term camping trip. The light in the tent is actually very convenient also. I appreciate the amber setting for night getting ready to sleep.I typically spend one weekend a month camping with our Scout troop and one or two weeks during the summer. I have found this tent to be dry and well made during some heavy storms. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this tent.

We used our tent for the first time a couple weeks ago and had a very heavy rain storm during the night which made me nervous because I hadn't reinforced the seams with sealant and hadn't staked the tent because I forgot the hammer. I was very pleasantly surprised that we had no water leak into the tent and it held up like a champ with the heavy wind. I absolutely love my tent!

I needed a tent for an annual camping trip and with my family growing it needed a little excess room. We had room for a Queen air mattress and portable crib with room to move around. It's easy to set up and withstands the weather well.

This a a great tent that is easy to put up and take down. With a D door makes it a perfect family tent with kids. (Who always for get to zip up the door). The light kit also makes this a luxury setup that the kids will enjoy too.

I just recently used our Elite Sundome tent on a boy scout car camping trip. It rained the entire weekend and no leaks. The overhang allowed me to unzip the door window to see out and vent the tent during the showers. Highly recommend this great little tent.

Our family of 4 has used this tent numerous times and it’s been great. We apply seam sealer and water repellent, and the tent stays dry inside. There is room enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, with our bags. The tent has nice big windows, storage pockets, and durable zippers. I do with the poles had better elastic holding them together. The elastic stretches out and it becomes a chore to connect the poles due to the extra material being in the way. Overall I would recommend this tent!

We used this tent for a 2 month trip cross country. We traveled from Virginia to Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, and Arizona, with several stops along the way. This tent held up great. There were no leaks, even in heavy rain. It withstood 40 mph wind for several days on end, though, it did lean quite a bit to the leeward side. All in all a great purchase. Coleman came thru for us again!
