We had a very wet weekend our first time using the tent. The rain fly was good kept rain out. At the seams in our tent a couple places dropped water in the tent so I’ll be adding seam sealer before my next trip. The one pole kept bending in when a gust of strong wind came not sure why.

We love to camp and we were in need of a new tent. We bought this one based on reviews. Amazing! love the door, roomy and best of all waterproof. First outing we had severe thunderstorms and stayed dry. Next trip out we had two night of storms with downpours of rain...not a drop inside. It takes the two of us about 10-15 minutes to have this tent set up. We highly recommend this tent.

I am single dad with 3 kids, and we have camped this tent probably 8-10 times the last 2 years under a variety of conditions. It has held up well with minimal wear. We especially like the clever door design. It stays rigid and Velcros shut in addition to zipping up. This is especially nice during times of day when people are going in and out often; easy access, still keeps bugs out, and saves wear on the zipper. Additionally, it is spacious yet easy for a single person to put up alone. The awning keeps the ground in front of the door from getting too wet in the rain, which in conjunction with a nice welcome mat (or two really helps keep the inside of the tent cleaner on long trips, and unless the rain is blowing towards the door (research direction of prevailing winds for your location before set up!), offers enough room to set up 3 folding chairs in the dry! We've rode out several thunderstorms in this tent, and have stayed dry, and never felt in danger of a tent collapse. One small, but very appreciated detail: The bag it comes in extends after removing tent from manufacturer packing, so its just about the only tent we've ever had that easily fits back in the bag after your first use! Good thinking Coleman peeps!

I purchased the exact same tent after our original one had had a Bear visit it and left additional exits! I love the D Door and the way the rain fly actually keeps the rain OUT! If I ever need to purchase another tent...well it would be the same one!

We had to purchase a new tent after our 20 year old tent just couldn't hold up any more. This tent was our choice. Fortunately for us, it lived up to its description. The rain started early on our weekend and lasted most of the weekend. Our tent stayed dry inside and we were quite comfortable playing cards and listening to the rain. We were even hit with some storms and the tent stood up to the wind. The "porch" was perfect for keeping our shoes out of the tent. When the rain started, we kept tennis shoes in tent, but flip flops outside for quick trips. Because the porch was screened, it did get water in it, but that is to be expected. Set up and take down was easy. Thanks, Coleman!

Sturdy, roomy, not stuffy or cumbersome and has windows and screen porch. It's ideal for us.

I have a son that is Autistic and loves "to camp". This tent goes up every fall in our driveway and stays there thru the spring. It is up in the sun, the wind, the rain, and once even in the snow. The inside stayed dry and the poles stood up to the wind and three inches of snow! The only reason we bought a new one was that the rainfly did eventually, after years of use, start to tear, and wasn't available to order separately. We look forward to many more "camping trips".

This is for our two week camping vacation and perfect for the 3 of us setting up like a little house so we feel comfortable.

We bought this tent as it’s tall enough to stand in as we frequent various renaissance festivals and change into costumes. What we found was a roomy tent that is comfortable with blow-up mattresses for camping trips where a bit of comfort and room is nice. The screened-in porch is also nice.

I bought this because I needed a tent that could hold a queen air mattress and a single air mattress, but still have room for our gear inside. Great size for this and very easy to put up.

I used this tent on Memorial Day weekend. It was perfect !! Right size for just the 2 of us. Gave us plenty of room to move around without being on top of each other. Plus room for our stuff without being in the way. Dont' hesitate to get one, you won't be disappointed !!!!

My other half ordered this and I was a little nervous as it was on the 'budget' priced end of tents. We downsized to the Evanston 8 (Screened Porch as our previous tent was too large for our needs and lacked the porch area to remove wet boots etc. Upon arrival at 9pm we had lost all day light and had to set up in the dark. Even so, in 15 minutes I had the tent up with the other half holding her phone as a light source. It was surprisingly easy. We had a warm first night which was unexpected as we thought the open rear vent would be super cooling. It did cool us off but not to the extent that we had to layer up to sleep comfortably. On the 2nd night it rained heavily with a thunderstorm close by. The tent held perfectly and not a drop of water penetrated into the main room. We knew the porch may get wet as the doors were only screened so we moved whatever we could inside and still had plenty of room. On the 3rd night another thunderstorm! This time it was wild and lasted at least 4 hours. I was dreading the following day as we were leaving and trying to dry out the inside and outside was not a task I was looking forward to.... The following morning, we woke up bone dry! I peered out from the screened porch to witness every other tent, and some RVs, drying out their sleeping bags and camping gear that had been soaked. Not us! Our trusty tent kept us and our gear dry, allowing us to towel wipe the fly sheet, air dry the tent and pack up our gear in the dry haven that was the Evanston 8 Screened. If I had a bone to pick it would be to have a fly layer to put over the front screened doors but other than that it's a great all rounder, easy to pitch, easy to repack and a joy to spend time in. I would definitely buy and recommend to anyone!

I went camping on Memorial Day to go scuba diving in PA. This was perfect !!! The size was awesome. Loved the overhang as I put my gear underneath it to protect from the sun. I would highly recommend this to anyone for any sport or just a weekend getaway !!!

This tent has lasted me 8 years of all kinds of camping. I was able to get it on a sale and it’s been through a lot. We came in all seasons and use a buddy heater in the winter. It’s been great but has been getting some wear lately so I had to update it. I am now trying out an instant tent. I could set this tent up by myself in about 10 mins 5 if someone helped me. The overhang was great when it rained. The chairs and belongings stayed dry.

Bought this to take my family camping for an extended weekend. Forecast called for rain but we decided to still go. Even with heavy rain and winds we stayed dry. The tent had so much room we were able to play games inside.

We had to upgrade from our 4 person tent to the 8. We have two soon to be teens and a new baby. We love the ease of setting up the tent. The screened in porch is perfect for leaving dirty shoes so it doesn’t come in the tent.

I purchased this tent for an impromptu camping trip in Va Beach. The floor and screens kept out the sand fleas and no see ums - kept everything dry during a spring thunderstorm, and stood up to the accompanying wins. All in all? I'm happy.

While we haven't taken the tent out for a camping trip just yet, we have set it up a few times for the kids. It's very easy to put up but you'll definitely need some assistance. The inside is pretty roomy. You can fit 2 queen air mattresses if needed. I wish I opted for one with a screened porch, but we think this will work just fine for our needs. The material also seems quite durable, which is common with Coleman tents.

I bought this tent a few years ago when it was on sale. It has some great features that I love, like the hinged door! It's so convenient! I also love the color of it, green and white. Our last tent was black and red - very dark and gloomy if rainy weather forces you inside. It's very large, 12' x 12', and there is lots of room for the 4 of us and our gear when we are car camping. We can easily stand up in the middle of the tent, which is nice when you are changing clothes. The downside is that it's a bit difficult and time consuming to set up. Lots of different tent poles to support it all, and threading them all through the sleeves is hard. I wish they had clips instead of the sleeves, it would make set up so much faster and easier. Also, there are a couple dozen stakes and guylines because a tent this size has a lot of surface area and would blow away otherwise. It's just time consuming to set up and take down. Quality is fine, it's what you would expect of Coleman tents.

We love the hinged door it's more like a cabin than a tent. There was definitely a learning curve setting it up, the directions are sparse. All in all we are very happy

LOVED IT. Our first "family" tent for our family of 4. Easy to get up and down. Plenty of room for 2 queen size air mattresses with space to spare for gear. Loved the hinged door with velcro and front porch. My husband is thrilled to have a tent he can stand up straight in.
