We have used our Coleman 10X10 Instant Sun Shelter tent often .... at soccer and lacrosse events, in our backyard for parties, etc. At first, it seems like the best purchase ever! However, the canopy just doesn't last longer than one season, even if the tent is not kept outdoors continuously. I feel terrible about throwing away the frame, which looks like new. The canopy is torn and useless.

We've been very happy with the overall quality of this canopy/shelter. When well-maintained, it's been relatively long-lived. However, our experience is that the frame has much more life in it at the point when the fabric wears out or is damaged. There appears to be no replacement canopy available on the planet. It's a real shame - seems clear that this part would be a steady seller.

I purchased this canopy about 2 weeks ago after researching different varieties for durability. I've had this canopy up over the back porch since I purchased it and and LOVE the shelter from the sun it provides. However, I'm disappointed in the durability of the fabric as it is already showing signs of the fabric thinning and creating a hole where the framing joints are. Additionally, the stitching holding the Velcro stays has come loose and will have to be re-sewn. This stitching should be reinforced with strong thread. I now have to figure out a solution to keep the areas where the frame joints rub from creating holes as well as sew the Velcro stays back into place. I'd give this a 5-star rating if it were not for the flimsiness of the sewing of the stays and the lack of resilience of the fabric. Coleman should reinforce the canopy material where the framing joints are to prevent the rubbing.

We purchased to provide protection for us and our dog on our trip to the beach. It performed perfectly. We practiced putting it up in our driveway, so we wouldn’t be fumbling around on the beach. It’s a snap to put up, take down, and put in the bag, after you understand the mechanics.
