Black Diamond Tent Stakes

These appear to be about the same as the stakes that came with the Moss tent (made in the U S that I bought about 30 years ago. It was the best tent that I have ever bought and the stakes were the best that I have ever used. After about 600 nights of use the tent finally wore out,but I am still using some of the stakes for the 5 tents that I have had since Moss went away, one of them a B D Megamid that I still use with Moss stakes. If they last as well as the Moss stakes that they resemble they will be great.

You need wooden ones for them. For tents, though, these work great. The only drawback is that the TSA won't allow them in carry-on, as they are considered a threat to our national security (national security: the ultimate paranoia). TSA does allow the cheesy plastic stakes through, which is irrefutable testimony to just how worthless they really are, so buy these stakes and put them in your checked baggage along with your tent poles (TSA won't allow those either: who knows what kind of Rube Goldberg thing you could do with them in the cabin!) Did I mention these stakes are filled with helium? They're wicked light, yet wicked strong, but they may bend a bit if you don't drive them into the ground at least 90% and a stiff wind breezes up on you.

These are about 10 steps above the stakes you receive with a tent. I recommend you add them to any tent purchase right off the bat and toss the other ones. They don't bend at all and are light, and the best part is they will last the life of your tent.
