Quality snowshoes
I purchased these for my lady friend. She had been using an older pair of snowshoes I had. Made a remarkable difference. The narrow design and fit were a big improvement. Well designed, light weight, and easy to move. She absolutely loved them.

Kicks back snow under heals.
These snowshoes were tried on both compacted trails and deep snow. In both cases the spring-back mechanism caused snow to be flung from the backs towards the legs. This snow eventually worked its way under the heals where it caused walking instability.

Flings snow under heals
These are beautifully made snowshoes, except for a major design flaw. The rear of the snowshoes spring flat to the sole to aid in walking around obsticles, but this feature also grabs little clumps of snow and flings them directly at the heals and the back of the legs. Eventually these clumps of snow end up underneath the heal - where they build up making the snowshoe unstable until you shake it off. This occurs constantly rendering the snowshoes inconvenient at best and dangerous at worse. My wife has been using a pair of Redfeathers for years (until they wore out) and never encountered such a problem. We're going to return them.
