Water Sports are physical activities that can take place in either saltwater or freshwater or when you’re in a swimming pool or out on the beach. Even though they’re fun and enjoyable for most people, they can quickly turn competitive. If you’re good enough, some water sports may even let you qualify for the Olympics, for instance.
People have tried their hand at a lot of water sports. Several of these activities are more popular than others, such as swimming. More adventurous water sports include kayaking, surfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, spearfishing, kneeboarding, and stand up paddleboarding.
To make yourself active in any water sport, you’ll need the right gear and accessories. Luckily, Sunnysports.com carries these essential items. Our catalog includes watersport gear from Airhead, ZUP, Cressi, O’Neill, and other top brands.
Find the Best Water Sports Gear for Your Next Trip or Competition
Water Sports equipment are available in a variety of types: inflatable kayaks and canoes, towables, and boards. Most brands also offer inflatable boats, inflatable lounges, fishing gear, and SUP gear.
If you’re kayaking, boating, or lounging in the water, consider purchasing inflatable gear. Inflatable kayaks are portable, which makes them ideal for exploring new waters. Meanwhile, inflatable boats are more buoyant and don’t tip over as easily as a standard boat. This makes them ideal for use in small lakes, rivers, and canals. You can get inflatable lounges and towables so you can have more fun while swimming.
Wakeboarders, water skiers, and board sport enthusiasts can find the water sports gear they need at Scuba.com. We’ve got wakeboards for sale, as well as surfboards, kneeboards, and foil boards. Ski boards are also available here, and we offer rods, lures, paddleboards, and accessories to add to your fishing or SUP gear.

Water Sports Equipment
Playing in any body of water, from ponds to rivers to oceans, can be one of the most exciting and refreshing outdoor activities there is, as long as you’ve got the right gear for it. Without water sports equipment to keep you dry, warm, or afloat, fun in the water can get miserable or dangerous quickly. Outfit yourself with the best gear right here before you go off the deep end!
Keep yourself and your gear dry
If you're spending all day (or longer) on the water, you'll want some means of keeping your gear dry. For soft water sports equipment like clothes and towels, get a waterproof “drybag” duffle. For smaller personal items like keys, wallets, and phones, you may want a hard-case drybox.
Regardless of what you're keeping dry, make sure that your drybags and dryboxes can be tied or latched to your boat or to something else that floats. It doesn't matter how waterproof your phone case is if you accidentally drop it overboard in deep water; you'll still lose your phone.
Stay warm
Although most of us really don't think about it, hypothermia can be just as dangerous as drowning. With the exception of hot springs, all bodies of water are cooler than our 98-degree bodies, and even prolonged exposure to 80-degree water in the summer can get chilly.
If you're going to spend a long time in any temperature of water, get a wetsuit. The colder the water, the more coverage and thicker material you'll need from this vital piece of water sports equipment.
Keep Your Head Above the Waves
Always bring a lifejacket or personal floatation device (PFD) when you're on a small watercraft like one of our inflatable kayaks or stand-up paddleboards. At the bare minimum, most public waterways require a PFD to be easily accessible for boaters, and for practical purposes, you should never take your PFD off while you're on a boat.
For playing on relatively calm lake waters, most any of our PFDs will work within their weight rating. If you're spending more time on a larger boat or even working around deep water in which you'll only need a PFD for emergencies, check out a type II PFD, which is designed to keep your head afloat even when you're unconscious. We also have some emergency type IIs that can inflate on demand. For river sports like rafting or whitewater kayaking, only use type III or V PFDs.
