This is the 3rd time I buy this jacket. It's perfect for cycling and hiking in the rain: it's lightweight, protects from both wind + rain, and does not keep you warm. The last part is crucial for me for year-round use: in the summer, I put it right over my t-shirt, while in the winter, I can wear bulky winter clothes underneath.

This is my go to windbreaker/rain layer when I am layering jackets for cool and cold weather. The large outside pockets are great for gloves/phone/accessories. It is perfect over a mid-layer or insulator jacket and keeps things dry and wind at bay

I've been very impressed with the durability and quality of this jacket so far. The fit is perfect-roomy enough to comfortably layer underneath, which is ideal for outdoor activities. I really appreciate the pit zippers, which add excellent breathability during more intense activity. The only thing left to test is the waterproofing, but everything else about this jacket makes it feel like a solid choice for outdoor adventures.

The Eco Pro is a much more substantive coat than the basic PreCip. The pluses are durability and better hood system. The downside (for me) is the loss of being truly packable / compressible. My old PreCip lasted more than ten years without re-finishing; I expect this to do the same (or longer).

This rain jacket has been fantastic. I upgraded from a very old, budget minded rain jacket that had worn out and I decided it was time for something nicer. This breathes so well I was able to wear the black colored jacket in the sun, on a day that was in the upper seventies all day. Pit zips function perfectly. And the higher position of the pockets will be much appreciated when backpacking and even come in handy when driving to and from the trailhead. Can't recommend it enough. I wore this for an hour in a down pour with the hood up and only had some rain get in at the pit zips which I forgot were open.

I took the Marmot PreCip Eco Pro Jacket with me on my trip to New York City at the height of the rain effects of Tropical Storm Ophelia. Whenever outside, I basically lived in this jacket for four days. It never leaked and the pit zips allowed ventilation so I never felt clammy. The hood was protective but gave great visibility, allowing me to quickly compose photos of our Manhattan adventures.

Checkout the Men's PreCip Rain Jacket. I have warn it to kids soccer games in the New Mexican high dessert. Weather here can every five minutes from snow, to wind, to tortuous sun. This jacket keeps you dry in any type of rain. It breathes so that you stay comfortable in any quick of weather. You can open vents to let out heat. When it becomes too warm, it is easy to remove and store in your backpack. It performs just as well in the Himalayas, where you can use with layers underneath to stay warm. While it is stretchable and more waterproof than regular Precip Eco, it lacks features found on the regular jacket - not packable into own packet and doesn't appear to be PFC free. You'd expect the pro version to be better in every way.
