The Dizzying Heights of Angel’s Landing

Angel’s Landing is an impressive rock formation found in Utah’s Zion National Park, stretching over 1,200 feet into the sky from its base to its peak.

In the early 1900s, a trail was cut through the solid rock that leads hikers to some of the most outstanding views in the world.

Featuring a variety of terrain, from sandy trails to steep switchbacks, Angel’s Landing is not for the inexperienced or the faint of heart. Parents are advised to leave the younger children off this hike, and to keep a wary eye on older ones, as footings can be unstable and heights dizzying. Parts of the trail are only accessible by pulling yourself along by an embedded chain, and it’s probably best you don’t look down.

Should you decide to take on Angel’s Landing, be prepared to enjoy a view of the Earth that relatively few have seen. Here’s a great family video showcasing the lofty peaks of Angel’s Landing.
