If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, there’s little doubt that you are passionate about nature. Whether it’s being in it, telling others about it, or protecting it in any way you can, you recognize that nature is intrinsic to our very being. It is from nature that we came, and to nature we return, in a perfect continuum of life on Earth.
Today there is a marked disconnection with nature that is evident across the entire globe. Misuse of natural resources, pollution, and a general attitude of human superiority over the vast majority of life on our planet is widespread, and at very grave costs to that life, including our own. While nature itself is not a finite concept, the way in which we use and abuse the resources available to us makes something that should be infinite a rapidly depleting force. It is imperative that humans begin to reconnect with nature and balance in order to sustain the lives that we so carefully piece together, and to provide a better future for those who will live on long after we’ve gone. For some, all that is needed is a mission statement, a call to action that rings in the heart and mind with such ferocity that there is no alternative than to act.
That is precisely what the minds behind Planetary Collective mean to do with a feature-length documentary, entitled ‘Continuum‘, that explores the human connection to nature, how that connection has dissipated over time, and what consequences it has for our planet as a whole. Filmmakers and visual media creatives have collaborated with cosmologists, ecologists, and philosophers, and other great thinkers of our time to get to the heart of how deeply nature runs in our history, and how its future hangs almost entirely in our hands. This moving trailer gives you just a glance into what Planetary Collective is trying to say to the world, and how you can be involved.
