As the outdoor world is inundated with technology like cell phones, GPS units and cameras, we find ourselves needing to protect our belongings from the elements. Sure, you could use any plastic bag, but perhaps you’ll want to upgrade to something a bit more durable after reading our aLOKSAK review.

aLOKSAK Review

Here is some basic information about aLOKSAK bags to get you started:

aLOKSAK bags are re-sealable element-proof storage bags featuring a hermetic seal. That means absolutely no water, air, dust or humidity permeates the closure. They are designed for a wide range of applications and environments. The transparent bags are flexible and puncture resistant. They come in multiple sizes and can be sealed over and over again. The unique and patented materials, closure systems and manufacturing techniques used to fabricate the aLOKSAK meet the most rigorous testing standards.

These bags are made of a durable polyethylene blended film and are 100% water/air tight. Certified waterproof to 200′ (60 meters) tested and approved by the Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) and safe – constructed using medical-grade film that is FDA and NSA approved for food and biohazard storage. Bags are temperature resistant from -40F to 140F (-40C to 60C). Bags have a tinsel strength rated to 6,250 psi (431 bars). Bags are made in the USA!

So they’re super heavy duty zip lock bags – or are they?

My aLOKSAK Review

Initially, my plan was to use aLOKSAK bags due to being a SCUBA diver as a way to protect my phone, keys, and other personal items from saltwater between dives. After an initial test, I now never leave home without at least a couple of these bags. On all of my hikes and camping trips, aloksak bags are a staple in my kit.

Incredibly lightweight and easy to pack, it just makes sense to bring a few along on my outdoor adventures. I’ve kept keys and multitools in these bags and have never had a puncture. Touch screen cell phones even work through the plastic so you can use your phone as GPS or camera without having to expose it to the elements.

Should you need an extra container for water or want to keep wet hiking gear away from your dry belongings, aLOKSAK bags come in a variety of sizes to accommodate whatever cargo you need protected.

Even though aLOKSAK bags are so much more durable and constructed better than standard zip lock bags, they aren’t unaffordable. In reviewing my aLOKSAKs, I’ve found I’m still using the same bags after several years of heavy use, so they’re well worth the investment.

What’s your review on aLOKSAK bags?
