With so much emphasis on reducing waste and recycling or repurposing items that would ordinarily wind up in a landfill, it only makes sense that we apply that to camping and hiking, activities that lend themselves to a minimalist approach to enjoying nature. There are plenty of uses for aluminum, plastic, and fabric that extend beyond their traditional use — materials that are durable and sturdy, making them perfect for use in the outdoors. This video is an excellent demonstration of how simple it can be to assemble camp gear from common household items, especially from those that have fulfilled their intended purpose. While you don’t have to use the exact items that are used in the video, it should inspire you to take a closer look at the materials available to you, and think creatively on how many other uses they may have. We love that the entire kitchen in this video nests into itself!
