Don’t miss out on the beautiful weather coming up this spring — gather up your baby camping gear and get out into nature! Whether you’re heading for the mountains or to the beach, these basics will help your littlest ones stay comfortable throughout your camping adventure.
1. Baby Hat

The most essential piece of baby camping gear: sun protection! Aim for a big, floppy hat for maximum protection. If you’re going near the water, consider one that dries quickly. A wet hat can do double duty to help keep baby cool in hot weather.
2. Stroller
A stroller can extend your day’s adventures, allow you to do that extra mile, and even provide some extra room to pack snacks on the trail. Some strollers are made explicitly for rough terrain, but if you don’t have one of these and aren’t a hardcore camper, don’t fret — there are a number of parks and campgrounds with stroller-friendly hiking paths.
3. Baby Carrier

No matter your preference, carriers can allow you to take your family places that outdoor strollers just won’t go. If you’re a casual weekend camper, a carrier may also carry the advantage of being less expensive than a stroller.
4. Waterproof Mat
Waterproof picnic blankets can do double duty for mealtime and playtime when camping. They’re a clean, dry place for baby to hang out and play when they’re not digging in the mud or chasing bugs. If you don’t have a waterproof mat, a blanket on top of a tarp will serve the same purpose.
5. Screen Tent

While a screen tent may not be feasible for backpackers, they’re great for the average car camper! These tents can range in size from family size to baby size to offer a safe place for napping. Especially considering how hard it can be to keep bug spray on babies, these are the perfect addition to baby camping gear as they let you relax and eat your dinner without being eaten by bugs!
