Glamping, a conjunction of the words ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’, is all the rage right now, and we think its popularity stems from the fact that people can enjoy the outdoors with all the comforts of home and none of the labor involved in packing, setting up, and tearing down.

You basically walk into your hotel room out in the woods. While some would argue that it’s not really camping if you don’t actually set up a camp, we think it sounds like a marvelous way to spend a weekend or more. Here are some incredible locations you might want to check out if you think it’s time you went glamping.

1. Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp

Where: Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a popular choice for many people going on a tropical vacation. Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp (CATC) lets you enjoy all this paradise has to offer. Located right on the sandy beaches of the Osa Peninsula, you get to CATC by way of a ten-minute boat ride. The island is home to over 350 species of birds and the camp gets regular visits from spider, white-faced, and congo monkeys. Due to the island weather, each tent is raised off the ground on a platform, and also covered with a huge tarp. Each tent has a front porch with chairs facing a lovely view of the Pacific ocean. Guests have free access to kayaks, canoes, snorkeling gear, surfboards, fishing gear, and laundry services, but wait — that’s not all! Your stay also includes 3 healthy meals a day, so come hungy! Enjoy a day at the beach, hike up to a waterfall, lounge in a hammock, or swim in a pond, all within steps of your tent.

2. Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes

Where: San Juan Island, Washington

If a temperate forest is more your style, check out Lakedale Resort on San Juan Island, located at the northwest corner of Washington state. Here you will find tasteful, well-furnished canvas cabins with queen pillowtop beds, futons, as well as high quality linens. They even have a turndown service in which they deliver a hot water bottle to keep under your sheets, wow! Each cabin also has a porch with chairs, picnic table with umbrella, and a fire pit. Hot showers and bathroom facilities are a few steps away from your cabin, and complimentary wi-fi is available in the Main Lodge. Your stay also includes a continental breakfast, with pancakes, fruit, jams, coffee, and juice. The onsite General Store offers groceries, deli foods, espresso, wine, and beer. So you could say Lakedale Resort is a fully-stocked glamping experience.

3. The Resort at Paws Up

Where: Greenough, Montana

This is a place that makes all other glamping look primitive. If you really want the glamour put in glamping, check out the Resort at Paws Up. Situated in a small town just northeast of Missoula, this Montana ranch is set on 37,000 acres of wilderness. Each tent comes with its own en suite bathroom with heated slate floors, king-size bed, electricity, cell and internet service, housekeeping, and a large deck with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the stunning mountain views and river flowing just a few steps from your front door. Your stay even includes transportation to and from the airport, plus onsite transportation. Surely Paws Up must be the ultimate in glamping. Or is it…?
