Great All Around Pack

Really great pack that has been a huge help on all mountain rides and dirt biking. The low weight of the water feels like I'm holding 1L, not the actual 3L. The tool roll is a great place to keep emergency tools, but I keep a multi tool in a more accessible pocket. Very light pack that packs gear in well thought out way. Minor complaints, -I wish the waist belt zipper pockets were wrapped around more towards the front to make them more accessible -The tails of the waist band and the bladder ...

Comfortable Pack but resevoir is lacking

I bought this pack a couple of months ago for mountain biking, dirt bike riding and hiking. Although I have worn-out a few packs over the last 25+ years, this is my first Camelbak and had high expectations. The pack fits well, is comfortable to wear, vents sweat away from my back, and I can easily swing the pack around to the front when I'm stopped on the trail. Looks sturdy and should last a long time. Time will tell. However, the reservoir is poorly designed. It is difficult to get in a...

For reference I'm 6'2" at 185 lbs.

Solid hydration pack

At first blush, the LR bladder takes some getting used to, I found it a bit difficult to get the bladder into and in a proper position in the bottom of the pack without considerable effort. I felt I had to empty the other cargo I had in the pack to get the bladder in. I am sure this will become easier as I use the pack but my older M.U.L.E was not so demanding.

Perfection

My first gen H.A.W.G. finally started to leave me wanting so I started hunting for my next hydration pack. I cross shopped everything. Ultimately it was between the Osprey Raptor and this. The LR bladder is a game changer. I don't notice this pack on my back when I ride - at all. I am a bit of a sweat-er by nature and this pack keeps me surprisingly fresh. Recently rode Gooseberry Mesa with this. Held the perfect amount of ice and water. Increased flow from the hose makes it easier to hydrate when you're sucking wind. I've never been let down by Camelbak quality - it's a "buy it for life" kind of product.

Good backpack.

Best Fitting Hydo Pack

I got the MULE LR 15 a couple of months and it has been the best hydration packs I've owned. The 3 liters of holding capacity is just perfect for a full morning or afternoon ride for my dog and me. I can load everything in it I need for the trail, without to much excess pack space left over. The bladder sits low and centered in the pack making the rest of the backpack sit securely through fast and rough terrain.

Comfortable Pack but resevoir is lacking

Although I have worn-out a few packs over the last 25+ years, this is my first Camelbak and had high expectations. The pack fits well, is comfortable to wear, vents sweat away from my back, and I can easily swing the pack around to the front when I'm stopped on the trail. Looks sturdy and should last a long time. Time will tell. However, the reservoir is poorly designed. It is difficult to get in and out, it is not compatible with the built in loops to hold it upright in the pack, and it quickly bunches up which restricts water flow. The interior compartments are not well thought out. No interior hooks for keys, and the pockets allow everything to fall to the bottom - no segmentation - which causes problems with the reservoir. Although a helmet has not fallen out, the exterior clips for a bicycle helmet don't seem trustworthy. Why not attach the rain fly to the pack. It is too easy to lose. The cinch straps to hold the bladder in place were not connected. I had to thread them through. Not a trivial task because the loops sewn into the end of the straps bunches up the webbing to triple normal thickness and made it very difficult to force the webbing through the plastic belt openings. I later found another pack on the shelf and unlike mine, it was correctly assembled.

Just what I wanted

By Darren S.

Excellent capacity. Water stays cold for a surprisingly long period of time. Backpack fits snug and is well ventilated so that I even forget that I have it on. It was just what I wanted for biking.

Great for biking

I bought this a few weeks ago and have used it a couple of times. The lumbar bladder keeps the weight low so it’s not bouncing around. There is a ton of room for spare parts and tools and snacks for those long rides.

Gets the job done

I got this pack about three weeks ago. I’ve had about four rides with it. It does what it’s supposed to do. There’s a 3 L bladder however I only fill it about 2 L. Reason being, the bladder at 3 L will hardly fit in the pack. I Purchased this on the close out deal. I would be a little more disappointed had I paid full price. The pack is balanced very well and very ergonomic. I wished that the zipper went all the way around the bag to put the bladder in the pack. The bladder definitely needs to be filled and in place before loading gear.

What a steal
