I have used this light for five different cavern dives and it works very well. Very bright beam and very long battery life. Havent had to change the batteries yet. I would recommend getting the 1200 Pelican case for transport between dives and also for storage. The 1200 Pelican case is the perfect size and also has room for your dive computer as well.

I dive with this light day and night. For anything under about 8 metres it really brings out the colours and details so I can really see what I'm down there to see. For crevices, underhangs, and caves its great - I spot things I wouldn't normally see. I sometimes use it as an auxillary light for my buddy's photography. For night diving, well, it's fantastic. While my buddies are straining to see something with their dim 15cm spot of light, the beam on this thing swings over like an SUV just drove past and they think "Oh, that's better". It has low output mode if you don't want so much light. There's a bit of weight, but that's all due to carrying 8 batteries; the unit itself is lightweight. It's tough; I do shore diving in Sydney so getting bashed by waves is common. I just clip it to my BCD and it's fine. Clip and extension coil are solid. I've dropped it when washing my gear - no problem. The other thing is that I've done about 35 to 40 hours of diving with it and I haven't had to replace the batteries yet. Only small glitch is that the switch is 'buggy'. On mine it's possible to lock the mechanism to the 'off' position but it is still on (in low output mode). It's no problem since battery life is so good. i just put my hand in front to check it if its daytime then wiggle the switch and it turns off. Because it's LED you can use it above water too. I use it to spot wildlife and to find and catch the fish in my fishpond when I'm cleaning it. Of all my dive gear, this is one of the items I'm most happy I bought.

Great primary dive light for a night dive. We also use this light during day dives if we are entering the 1st rooms of caves.

This is a great light at a great price, the led lasts forever, and you can be sure you won't break it, even in the roughest conditions. But there are better lights, for alot more money. If your looking for extreme reliability, stick with led. If your bug diving, I think this is one of the best lights, if your wreck diving, well then I don't need to tell you what you need, you should already know.

UK's C8 eLED waterproof light is the world's most popular primary light. Many divers would not consider going underwater without the power of its bright, long-lasting beam. It starts with a unique dual power electronic circuit to control the matched pair of 6-watt white LED's. Its water-cooled heat sink increases brightness underwater and improves burn time. Polarized battery contact plates make it possible to interchange individual battery cells and rechargeable packs as well as prevent potentially dangerous reverse battery insertion.
Unlike the standard glass envelope lamps used since Edison, the LED will not break when dropped. The life expectancy is well over 5,000 hours. The light emitted by the LED (light emitting diode) is like sunlight and travels farther underwater than the more yellow light from an Edison lamp. In addition, a power control circuit is built into the light to help maintain the same brightness throughout the discharge of a set of batteries. A tough O-ring sealed ABS and polycarbonate case protects the components all the way down to 500' (152.4 meters). The C8 eLED is powered by 8-disposable C"-cell alkaline batteries (included), or if you wish to upgrade it with a rechargeable kit the SKU: UKTRKC8E is available eliminating the need for replacement power cells. With alkaline batteries the light has a burn time of 13.9 hours on the high-power setting and 19.7 hours on low.
The C8 eLED Dive Lights Dual 6-Watt LED's produces 400 lumens of brightness on high power and 270 lumens on low. The light has a beam distance of 494' (150.5 meters) in high-mode and 403' (122.8 meters) in low-mode on land. The light measures 7.2" x 7.1" x 3.2" (18.29 cm x 18.03 cm x 8.13 cm) and weighs 36 oz. (1.02 kg). The C8 eLED Light is equipped with a non-breakable locking switch that prevents accidental actuation when in your gear bag and has a protective heavy rubber lens boot for drop protection. Light handle is a pistol grip design and comes with an adjustable rubber sleeved wrist lanyard. Light is available in multiple colors, comes with an owner's manual and is proudly made in the USA.
