I liked the fanny pack design, but it was a little oversized and didn't seem to be able to hold the weight of a telephoto and camera today with lenses. Tended to fall over at the waist when packed up no matter how tight you made it. Still was a nice bag though, well constructed and lots of extra pockets. Would recommend in general; just not what I need at this time. Packaged up to send back today.

Three stars because it's really well constructed, a good size, and a fair price. Negative two stars (and being returned) because it fails horribly as a hip/waist bag. Size wise it's just what I was looking for, to fit a D750, a 70-200mm 2.8 and 16-28mm 2.8, plus a flash and assorted other things. But all of that weight gets concentrated on the one spot without padding - the plastic buckle. This is right on your stomach or small of your back, depending on where the bag is sitting. I wanted to love it, but it was too uncomfortable to wear immediately, so it's being returned. It would probably be a completely different story with the optional shoulder straps, or if you use it primarily as a shoulder bag. But as a hip/waist bag it's really bad.

Easily holds a full frame DSLR and a trio of fast zooms plus extras. Great padded waist belt. It is obvious that MountainSmith understands outdoor adventure gear. Ruggedly built too. I expect it to last for years.
