Quality rash guard. In real life, it looks better than it does in the product description photo. Functionality merits 5 stars--it's quick drying, warm, perfect for a boat dive, etc. The only deduction is for the smell. If you are sensitive to "rubber" smells, then you may want to avoid. I dove in this for an average of 3 hours a day for six days, and I can still smell the rubber offgassing.

I bought this to wear under my 7mm wetsuit. It does make a difference. The 1.5mm is on the front and back panel, and not the sides or sleeves. Even so, it still gives you that little added warmth. On colder dives, I'll wear a long sleeve 1.5mm under the wetsuit, but that tends to bulk up in the arms. This one is perfect. I have yet to wear it under my drysuit to see how it acts as an additional insulator. Overall, I've only used it a few times, but it seems quality made and should last for awhile. This was good buy. I recommend you try it out.

I ordered a size M based on the size chart and reviews for my husband. He's 5' 9" and 170 lbs. Upon arrival, this rash guard shirt looked so small that I tried it on for myself. It's slightly big especially across the shoulders/chest, but I have that same problem in women's tops. Although I know the fit is suppose to be tight, I'm keeping it. For reference, I'm 5' 4" and 124 lbs. I've reordered this rash guard shirt for my husband in a size XL. We'll be using them for an upcoming vacation that includes snorkeling so I can't vouch for the effectiveness yet, but quality seems decent.

I ordered a large but it was much bigger than expected. They had me print a new label, returned free of charge and sent the medium. Fits just right. Price was about the best I could find and the quality looks good. Only worn it once as the water has gotten pretty warm but it was a replacement for one I wore out after 3 years. It appears to be as good as that one.

Used this in Aruba for snorkeling. Even though the water temp can be around 75 degrees the surface can get pretty chilly expecially when it is breezy and your in the water for awhile (1+ hr) Would not recommend just for a swim shirt because it will get hot out of the water.

Hyperflex's latest layering innovation. This shirt combines the warmth of polyolefin with the thickness and core warmth of neoprene. 1.5mm neoprene on the chest and back, polyolefin on the shoulders, neck and underarms. This shirt can be worn alone as a warm water core warmer/surf jacket or layered under a wetsuit for added thermal insulation. Moisture Wicking: Polyolefin material wicks moisture away from the skin more effectively than any other fiber. As a result, there is no evaporative cooling against the skin which allows the user to stay warm and dry. Superior Insulation: Polyolefin has the highest insulating capacity of any fiber, natural or man-made.
Polyolefin is an extremely lightweight material. Warmth without excess bulk. The material is durable, incredibly strong and is remarkably resistant to abrasion and tears. Color is locked into the fiber so this garment will not fade when exposed to sunlight, chlorine or perspiration. The fabric provide no odor retention and easy care. Polyolefin is washable and virtually care free. Because Polyolefin is inert, the fabric does not support the growth of odor causing bacteria.
