I like using the dual fuel products like the lantern and this stove. This unit is built well and can get a medium cast iron skillet up to 500 F in a few minutes. It's really all you need for a stove. No need for the wasteful and costly16oz propane bottles.

Coleman stoves and lanterns are great products so this 533 stove is no exception. Now I do enjoy the small form factor of this wonderful stove but sadly I received a defective one after running it. The pump tube had a defect past the check valve because white gas leaked into the pump tube. So I'm giving Coleman a full ten stars for their outstanding customer service and warranty. They stand behind their products fully and also honor their warranty. I registered my product on their website and filled out a warranty application. They sent an email within 2 days and I had a new 533 stove under 2 weeks. Outstanding and very satisfied with the outcome. This shows me that Coleman can be trusted to honor their warranty as long as you know what they do and don't cover under their warranty's.

Very easy to use and seems to be well made. Ignition is simple and I'm able to fully control the flame from a roaring flame to a gentle simmer. Only issue I have is with the gas delivery. It manages to escape from the burner box and seep into the bowl. This is a minor annoyance as it causes a repetitive buffeting noise. Overall great little stove and one of the few remaining that doesn't use canned gas like butane or propane. It will surely last a very long time. Side note: Coleman, make the replacement generators For this model of stove more plentiful. The few options I've found only were nearly the cost of the entire stove.

The Coleman 533 Dual-Fuel stove is a reliable choice for cold Minnesota winters, operating efficiently in sub-zero temperatures with liquid white gas or unleaded gasoline. Because it maintains consistent pressure.

I mainly use the stove for truck camping. It's nice Coleman still makes this model. It works very well, and good customer support also.

Great little stoves. I bought one used, and it rocks, especially well in cold climate I live in. Easy to maintain as well.

This stove model has been in production for nearly 35 years and that says a lot; it is simple, powerful and reliable.

This compact stove works great with Coleman fuel or pump gas. Super easy to pack and not really that heavy. I enjoy not having to lug around separate fuel bottles like for a propane stove. I fill this up before leaving for a short trip and thats all I need.

I bought my Coleman 533 stove about 35 years ago. I still have the original box, and the price tag is $39.99. The box says it is a Sportster II. 533 and Dual Fuel are on the side of the stove. I've got a lot of use out of it, and I've never cleaned it or done any maintenance, and it still works like new. I recently used it every day on a 29-day car camping trip. I have only used it for car camping. It seems like it would be sort of heavy for backpacking. I have only used white gas with it, mostly the Coleman fuel, but sometimes another brand. I like that you can just pump the stove to pressurize it. Before I owned this stove, I had two white gas stoves that required burning some white gas or flammable paste on the outside of the stove to heat it to pressurize it before lighting, and I thought that was a pain and a hassle. One gallon of the Coleman white gas lasts a very long time, so the fuel cost is pretty insignificant. One tank of gas is enough for several meals for me. I've never had Coleman white gas go bad due to age, but after owning a can for a year or two, I put the remaining gas in the can in my truck's gas tank to get rid of it and then buy a new can. The flame is nicely adjustable, but even on the lowest setting, it is too hot for me to simmer rice, so when I cook rice, after bringing the water and rice to a boil, I put the pan on a little stand that supports it an inch or two above the burner, and then I get a very nice simmer on a low flame setting. I have good luck using this stove in the wind if I place two coolers upwind of the stove to block the wind. The tank of the stove doesn't get very hot during operation. For example, it's not too hot to move the stove during operation. I like that this stove has no gimmicks. It just has a fuel tank, burner, fill port with cap, gas control valve/lever, and pump. I've never had any issues with this stove even in temperatures that are well below freezing. This stove, a pan with lid, a 1-gallon Coleman fuel can, and a roll of paper towel all fit nicely into a small plastic tote for a nice cooking kit.

Very satisfied with this product's functionality. Found flame adjustment from low to high was not difficult as some reviews suggested. Lever positioning vs flame intensity was not linear throughout the range but this is not an impediment. This product is very well made. The tank/base does not become hot to handle. Coleman fuel is an excellent value in terms of cost vs burn time. This product is easy to use and instructions are clear and easy to learn and remember. Flame range accommodates needs from quickly boiling water to gently reheating leftovers. I have not attempted using this with a significant wind.

So far so good. I've burned roughly 2 tanks of fuel through this stove so far and it has been flawless. I've used only Coleman fuel so far but like the ability to use gasoline if needed. One of the major criticisms about this stove is that you cannot turn it down to a low flame without experiencing problems. I do not have that issue with mine.

I'm giving this stove 4-stars but it comes with a caveat... I'm actually on my second of these units. The first one I received would only operate at full bore high and would still load up and flood. This made the stove unusable for anything other than boiling water/melting snow. Essentially if you do just a bit of forum/review reading this seems to be a common deal. I contacted Coleman Customer Service via the website form, described the problem and provided some pics documenting the issue as best as I could. Coleman has since sent me a new unit that runs perfectly and/or as I would expect. The new stove is absolutely controllable from a low simmer to a high boil that allows me to actually cook as well as my older stoves. I'm very glad to have added this new production stove to my vintage collection!

I recently purchased this stove, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The flame control is smooth and precise, allowing for easy adjustments depending on the type of cooking I'm doing. The burner itself is lightweight, yet sturdy, making it ideal for both home and outdoor use. It ignites quickly and distributes heat evenly, which is essential for consistent cooking. One of the things I appreciate the most is its efficiency; it heats up fast and doesn't seem to use up too much fuel. Whether I'm simmering a sauce or boiling water, it performs perfectly every time. Plus, it's compact enough to take along on camping trips without adding too much weight to my pack. In short, this gas burner is well-made, reliable, and a must-have for anyone who values convenience and quality in their cooking gear.

This is a reliable classic design. It will pump out as much heat as an msr xgk-ex while running as silently as a whisperlite. One downside is that it can't run on kerosene. My stove would not simmer and it should. I discovered that the generator cleaning wire was cut a few millimeters short. I bought a new generator, installed it, and it now simmers perfectly. I will be replacing the wire in the original generator in the near future so that I have a functional spare generator on standby.

Have used Coleman white gas stuff for decades. I bought this recently for the truck. Like it but it does not simmer well. It's a blast furnace on high though.

I spent quite a bit of time in the forest near my home and this little jewel is perfect for my outings. I fuel up with unleaded gasoline and off I go. Setup is worry free, a little bit of pumping, open the valve and light it with a ferro rod striker. It generates plenty of heat for quickly boiling water or to cook a full meal. The adjustment valve is responsive and consistent.

Going to be using this for motorcycle camping trips. Tried it out a few times at home and it works better than expected. Should have gotten 2 while they were on sale to give one as a gift for a fellow biker friend.
