Made for a successful summit up Mount Rainier. These are extremely easy to put on virtually any shoe with a snug fit. I have La Sportiva Ultra Raptor 3 MIDS and the Aquilibriums, both of which the crampons fit great on. Note: these are non-technical winter hiking crampons.

Used on up to WI4 with no problems. Not the ideal crampon for most solid waterfall ice climbing but it can still handle it. It's well built and pretty rigid. Easy adjustability.

I borrowed my friend's Contact Crampons for a five day mountaineering trip in the north cascades. These performed perfectly for both walking across glaciers and climbing steep snow pitches. I prefer a less technical boot and I believe these work better than converting a technical crampon to regular boot.

I've been using al crampons for years (even in situations where steel would be preferable) just because of the weight, but these are BARELY any heavier and obviously much more robust! I've now sold my aluminium crampons and converted to steel full-time :)

I have yet to wear these on the side of a mountain, but was nervous about the fit ordering through REI? but they do on the very last notch. If your foot is any larger than mine, I recommend getting the extended (long flex) center bar.

They fit snug on my la sportiva mountaineering boots, if you have a heel weld these are money. Can't speak for regular boots or boots with no shank in the sole.

Bought these to replace a Black Diamond set I had that was about 10 years old. So far, so good. Sizing was quick and simple. Performance has been great. I really like the stainless steel, I feel like they will maintain their appearance better than the older pair I had.

Bought these for touring where I'll mostly be wearing snowboard boots that don't have a heel swell. These fit perfectly on my Burton boots and my Scarpa mountaineering boots and feel really snug and stable. No complaints!
