NICE Airhead Telescoping Paddle

By Thomas w.

On Time

These lightweight paddles adjust easily to variable lengths with a simple twist. A section of the aluminum shaft disappears inside the blade for the ultimate in compact storage under boat seats or in personnel water craft (PWC) storage compartments. The corrosion-resistant aluminum shaft, high-impact molded blade, boat hook handle and hassle-free locking device ensure years of service. The bright orange blade is a great for signaling in emergencies. Paddle is available in 2-models. The P-2, which extends to the same length and includes nylon carrying case. The P-3 paddle can collapse to a short 25.5" (64.8 cm) length or extend out to a 72" (182.9 cm) length making it functional for low profile canoe paddling to use with a stand-up paddle board (SUP).

Unless this is isn't for a kayak, just get a backup kayak paddle instead. I leave this one at home, and take a broken down kayak paddle for backup. If I really need a paddle out at sea, won't take much longer to put the two parts together than to twist this one into use.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  How do I use the paddle?
SCOTT K  Just turn the top of the handle counter clockwise and pull to extend. Turn the handle clockwise to lock. Grab the small orange piece in the middle and do the same. Use the hook for docking or grabbing anchor lines. Use the paddle end for? You guessed it
CHRISTOPHER S  makes a great backup/emergency paddle, very compact. Also tougher than normal paddles so its good for pushing a stuck boat off rocks or sand
DAVID E  I use it as a compact emergency paddle on small sailboats, like Laser or Sunfish. Very helpful when I'm becalmed, it's getting late, and I need to get back to shore. I drilled a small hole near the edge of paddle, near the tip, so I can run a small line in a loop from the handle to the hole. That allows me to secure it to the boat without flopping at the mast base. My first one lasted 3 decades before replacement.
