The first 1 I got had a 16" diameter opening and was about 9" thick. It had an air leak so they sent me a replacement. Airhead changed the dimensions because this one had a 17" opening and it's only about 7" thick. I am not happy with the replacement. We liked the thicker tube and smaller opening. I have younger kids so I liked the smaller opening.

I don't have them here, but I would estimate it's about 16" wide. I use them with kids as young as 10 years old, because it is the smallest tube I could find that had the durability I need on the river. Still, kids have a hard time paddling them, but at least they don't fall through.

I have about 30 of these tubes. They hold up pretty well and are generally small enough for the kids in my camp to reach the water for paddling. Similar tubes are too big or have a rope that chafes the arms of the passenger. They are affordable enough that I am not too upset when one springs a leak. We use them with a PFD in rivers with mild rapids.
