I had to return it. I couldn't get close enough to cook anything due to the terrible, noxious odor coming from the burning fuel tablet.

This is a solid and durable little stove that is great for its intended use - boiling water. I have used this stove on numerous military operations and Scouting campouts. It may not boil water in 3 minutes, but then again, how often do you really need boiling water in 3 minutes? For hot beverages, oatmeal, ramen/soup, and freeze dried meals, this stove is all that you really need. I do recommend that you use the Esbit fuel tabs instead of some of the cheaper brands - they burn much cleaner. I prefer the fuel tabs because they pack better, don't leak, and work well in cold weather.

It didn't begin well,I live in Colombia, and i could't import the solid fuel, i went into the mall and i found a cheap solid fuel called "pasta combustible", it was made of parafin wax, water and petroleum =/, well they burned well but they melted and made a mess (there's still black wax in the bottom of my cookset), the temperature control was awfull and my cookset became dark as coal, I had some eco-fire starters that looked like candles, i cut them in half and gave them a try, and it was perfect, no odor, great constant temperature,I can carry them anywhere, there's no restrictions at airports, they are lightweight, they last for 17 minutes, and they boil 500ml of water in 11 minutes, that means that half "candle" will boil and keep boiling for 6 minutes before it goes,(two halfs will boil 1.5l in half and hour). For me its the perfect solution, and a candle cost 40 cents (and you use half). Im soo Happy. I Boiled 500ml of water at 17.000 ft in 10 min, then i added pasta, and voila, 7 minutes boiling XD.
