I took the bag to 95 feet, & had no problems. I think the reason it works is that it is a soft pouch which can not be cracked by pressure at depth. A simple idea that could probably be duplicated by using 3 zip lock bags, but do you want to take the chance? For SCUBA, I didn't want an entanglement problem, so I cut the neck strap off.

Did not use these for cell phone, but used them for money and ID. Fit under all garments and you can swim, dive, surf, etc without getting your money wet and they are hideden and very secure.
