This tent is awesome. If you are looking for something strong, not too heavy, easy to setup and good looking, this is the tent. I've used it a lot of camping weekends, on heavy winds and rain, it's 3 person, but 4 regular bodies can sleep good, has 2 huge vestibules and good ventilation.

I owned an eureka Timberline tent for many decades.I wanted to replace it and this looked like it was just what I needed.I camp when on motorcycle trips.I can carry a bit more weight than backpackers.The quality is really good.I noticed this model appeared to be discontinued.I thought I could get a good price and I did.

I've only used this tent on a trial in my back yard for two nights. My wife, 80 pound dog and I were quite comfortable with plenty of room left over to change, out wait a storm or if we had to make a cold meal. (Sandwiches ect.) While I can't wait to stick this very well made tent into the woods and give it some real trials I have no doubts whatsoever that I really did make the best tent purchase and saved a ton of money... Sunnysports had the best deal going and definitely saved me $40.00 and more . THIS was after a very extensive Web search. PLUS... the shipping and contact were bar none one of the best in the business. I am glad I found Sunnysports, I am glad I signed up for their email alerts and I'm very pleased with my purchase and their service. Thanks Sunnysports, Steve.

Needed a 3 ½ season tent that would stand up to cold, wet, windy weather and the occasional snowfall.. I like lots of ventilation and I'm not a big fan of a full-coverage fly which restricts visibility and usually features an awkward zipper which allows collected rain water into the tent as the vestibule is opened. Love the zipper placement on this vestibule along with the ground level zippered vents (a full fly with extra ventilation!) and plastic windows. . Could have gone with the 2XTE but with stronger poles and no significant change in the profile size , why not? I have a Sunrise 8 which weighs 11 lbs. and I car camp so the weight of the 3XTE is not an issue and two poles and clips offer a quick set up. The tent doors provide nice visibility. This tent has all of the features I was looking for.

Great tent..pretty roomie water tight easy to set up. only thing. it needs isother stakes. the ones that come with it are flimsy cheap aluminum. buy better stakes and your good to go. great price for such a great product.nothing compaires in value.

Doesn't take long to set up once you figure out the fly. Dismantle in a minute and if you wrap it tight, all fits back into its bag. Extraordinarily roomy for us - 6'1" husband, 5'5" woman, 29-pound Beagle. Plenty of room for gear. The two doors and vestibules are great. We love it.

We purchased this tent to replace our 20 year old Eureka, Timberline 4. We wanted to go with a little smaller tent that was lighter. This tent is perfect for my wife and I. Plenty of space for sleeping and some gear. This tent has a neat feature in that the Fly has 2 vestibules built right into it, one on each end. Perfect for storing packs and gear out of the rain. We just got back from a 4 day trip into the BWCA and the tent performed excellent. I would purchase it again.

I have been amazed with this tent since I purchased it. To test the tent's performance before a back-country trip I set it up prior to a tropical storm last year and waited till it had past to see the results. Not a drop inside. That set the bar, and the bar hasn't moved. During a backpacking trip on the Art Lobe Trail last year we set up camp on a summit at 6,200 msl; a week before Christmas as a storm was coming in (33 f, 50+ kts). I think I can honestly say that this tent took potentially very dangerous conditions, and turned it into a great story! It did great throughout the entire storm, no water in the tent, and once we got warm were comfortable! As far as space, its great as well; I went on another trip with 2 other friends and brought my 85lb Shepard along; and we all fit. The makers got it right with this one right!!

Only have used it a couple of times. Can't truly test it's merit yet. I wouldn't say it's the most recommended backpacker's tent at 8lbs. But it's a lot more spacious than my Kelty Gunnison 2 that I backpack with. Sleeps two people and their gear comfortably.
