time for a new harness so I picked up the momentum. comfortable with just the right features. adequate gear racks, adjustable leg loops, adequate padding. solid harness

I’m conflicted on how I should rate this harness. On one hand it has very impressive adjustability and does just fine for gym and sport climbing. However this harness is very poorly suited for trad climbing despite being advertised as an all around harness. The combination of minimal padding and hard plastic gear loops resulted in much discomfort when heavily loaded with trad gear.

Bought as my first harness. Much better than my gyms loaners. You have to pull the smaller, inner buckle to release the strap, which is sort of challenging with pumped arms. It doesnt open pulling the whole buckle back. However, its not that bad of on issue, and even feels a little safer. Suits my begginer indoor needs perfectly, with plenty of comfort.

I'm on a budget and want 1 harness that can do everything from gym wall to trad through to ski mountaineering. Yes, there's better harnesses for each of those disciplines, but I'm very happy..it works for all of them. The ability to go from tights and t-shirt to full layers is key for me. I'm happy with the compromises and a bit of additional fumbling with the buckles...I'm not racing!

Perfect for gym & sport climbing. gear loops are a bit small for multi-pitch even if you use a shoulder sling.

Really love the adjustability and simplicity. First harness that fits both my waist and my thighs!!! Have used and owned 4 harnesses prior to this one.

This harness is my go to for gym climbing or if I'm coming in and out of my harness all day. It's double buckles are really easily tightened down and loosened. The waist belt tightens down well with my 32-33" waist. Compared to my other two harnesses, it's less comfortable than my Metolius Safe Tech Deluxe by a small amount, and more comfortable than the Petzl Adjama by quite a lot. The two complaints, in an other wise amazing harness, is the gear loops sit to the back too far, and the distance from the leg loops and waist can't be adjusted independently from the leg loop size. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

I bought this as a guest harness so I could bring my non-climber friends to go top roping with me. It is great because it fits all my friends. Slight annoyance, it's difficult to get on and takes 5x as long as my Momentum harness.

I bought this primarily for single pitch routes when I didn't want to wear a beefier trad/MP harness. After a decade of recommending the momentum to beginner climbers as their first harness, I decided to drink my own kool-aid and buy it. Its comfy enough for fast and light multi-pitch. I do get a little bruising from hanging belays or repeated falls when projecting but this is to be expected with a lightweight harness. The double waistbelt buckles plus leg adjusters was the main selling point for me. They are totally worth it and I doubt I'd buy a harness without it. The only thing I dislike is that sewing on the waistbelt ends often catch on the elastic loops that they pass through. This happens when loosening the harness and adds additional fumbling. If they were tacked folded in, instead of out, this would prevent this issue while still allowing a little backup for the speed adjust buckles.

The only thing bad about this harness is that it is not cheaper than solution b/c solution is more comfortable than the Momentum DS if it was cheaper than the solution i would give it a five.
