Sierra Designs applied its seam-welding technology to the flagship bivy this season, making it more durable and waterproof than ever before. Start with the 40-denier waterproof-breathable DriZone, weld the seams, and build the bivy in an accommodating, comfortable footprint. No-See-Um mesh over the opening allows you to sleep in the open air during warm nights, but if the weather threatens, pop up the wire-supported hood and zip the Zagori shut. Two hood vents thwart condensation if you're pinned down and multiple guy- and stake-out options make the Zagori a reliable go-to companion on alpine routes or thru-hikes.
