Good pair of summer hiking pants

I purchased my son and myself each a pair of these pants several weeks ago for hiking and backpacking. They have performed exactly as hoped. We have worn them on a half-dozen day hikes, a three day backpacking trip, and a four day, off-trail high route. Despite sliding across talus, hopping boulders, crashing through slide alder, and crawling through avalanche debris, the pants have yet to show any rips or tears. The single-layer of nylon seems durable, drys quickly and is perfect for warm, s...ummer hiking and backpacking. When the temperature drops in the morning or evening, a thin layer of synthetic long-johns worn under these pants keeps me comfortable, and will extend the pants usefulness into spring and fall hiking. The pants convert easily into shorts thanks the side zipper which allows the legs to be pulled off over boots. Labeling the zipper pulls with a "L" and "R" makes it much easier to reattach the legs to the correct side of the pants. Several reviewers complain about the lightweight belt, but I have had no problems. The thin belt fits easily under my backpacks hip belt.
